Time progressing too slow?
I feel like time progresses way too slowly in custom game. It can take what seems to be like over an hour on 3 speed just to advance a single year.

I kind of like the slow paced time progression. I would like to live an adventure of managing a growing railway company struggling through the ages to expand, surmounting all kinds of obstacles.

But gameplay is too fast and easy. It's not normal to have laid track Coast to Coast (New York - Sacramento) in 1831. That is not a matter of time progression being tot slow, but unbalanced extremely snowballing gameplay.

Also research is much too fast also. It does not matter what you chose. After a decade you have all the tech for that decade enabled. No need to chose between one or other tech. You can have it all. Again no problem with time progression being too slow, but unbalanced gameplay.

At least, that is my personal impression.

It seems that I typically wait the last 50% of a game for growth. Express revenue, made even worse by the bugged Restaurant/Market Hall, is very plentiful. Even at normal rates there is still an imbalance city growth vs. revenue. Speeding up growth would just make revenue even higher. So the only way the devs can balance it to decrease revenues. Perhaps, an option, Decreased Fares, like RE1 originally had.

I beat the game objectives (Italian scenary) around 1840, I continued to play further, connected all the cities and rural resource stations, grown all cities to max in 1846,
with nothing more to do, after 30 hours of play.
Now I would like to restart the game on a larger map, to get to the end of the technological evolution, but the idea that it will take hundreds of hours of gameplay to get to year 1900, is a real turnoff for me.

This is crazy talk. Compared to the speed at which you can snowball otherwise, research is *obscenely* slow. In a basic custom game you can complete essentially every non-population objective within a year. Population objectives within three. There isn't enough *gameplay* to simulate a full decade of growth.

Yep I can win a custom game in under 10 years and the only real choice is how fast do I want to go. I real hope the fix the research and AI cause regular AI just seems to get stuck at like 4 city's and ADV is still very slow and some times gits stuck at 4 citys still.
