Back to the Slag Heap - Richter is not there?
Hi!

I just encountered this problem. Once I've dealth with Varan and his men, the Ward arrived in a helicopter and the scene happened where you talk with Korshunov and assemble an AK.

Problem is, once I was done with the cutscene, Richter called me to talk but he is not inside the building as he was supposed to be. Once I left the staircase the mission marker was automatically set back to the top of the slag heap where I previously talked to Richter, but he's not there this time.

Any advice how to pass this issue?

Same issue here that mission is buggy I have 2 saves both saves have bugs on that mission can't progress

If you have this issue. Go to "The Boathouse".
I was able to continue this mission after visiting the "Boathouse" (which is to the south east of the "Slag Heap").
Richter was there for me... (don't know why thoug).

For me, at least, Richter was outside the front main doors. I saw him walk that way, past the bar and just wait outside.

If he's vanished.. Go into pause menu>settings>disable autosaves
Now.. Try an earlier save than your current latest save (I know, but just do it)
If Richter still isn't appearing, thanks to 'Costarring' here, go see if Richter is at the "Boathouse", like suggested.

If Richter has lost the will to live, and some of these NPCs do.. it might be that his pathing has taken him into the radioactive garbage behind the slag heap and killed him. Since he's an essential character, however, I can't see this being the case. GSC also recently did some fixes with NPC pathing, so I doubt anything bad has happened.

Still with auto saves disabled, Reload your most recent save, try the Ward gun puzzle cutscene again and see if things have behaved themselves.

If Richter is still not appearing in the bar, or by the front main doors outside, One more thing to try: Go into your saves by ESC>Load save>then delete the last recent save(s) -that you recently encountered this issue with- I know.. but it is likely that save file is corrupted with the bug and no matter how many times you try, it won't work on that save. It's overwritten and the bug is baked in. Best not to have it anyway.

You'll have to try to replay the next, most recent save, to get back to where you were. Now- BEFORE you enter into the cutscene by going upstairs... make a hard save. At this point, Richter has not spawned yet, so this should be free from the bug occurring. (if there is a bug at all). - Once you have made a hard save, and returned back in game, MAKE A QUICK SAVE, F5. Then hit ESC to go to main menu.

Quit the game. (still with auto saves disabled)
Restart the game, once in main menu DONT click continue, click load.

Load the QUICKSAVE, Leave the hard save alone, keep it clean.
Try the cut-scene again, see if Richter appears. If not, then you know you have a bug and you can report it to GSC via their website bug report page. (link in this main forum)

If you wish, you can attempt to reload the quicksave again, to see if the magic elves have sprinkled good fortune dust on you, you never know, worth a try.

Leave that hard save you made alone though. That's a placeholder for your progress until a patch is released, or something else, like a miracle happens.

If you wish, you can re-enable auto save, up to you.

An alternative thing, and you won't like this, is to start a new game. It might be that your save games are ALL corrupted and you don't realise... Bear in mind, that the save files you have been recently loading have gone through multiple updated versions of the .exe -

It's not the best option, but it's an option if you are really really stuck, until a better solution comes to you. Hey- you get the practice in :)

Also bear in mind, I had an issue with the Bald guy, Babay, who's goons ambushed Akopyan, He disappeared at the slag heap too, but GSC fixed it in a later patch, I restarted a new game on 'slot 2' just to nuke my last game progress. I don't mind doing it.. hurts a bit, but let's face it, there's going to be way more updates to come in future and the game should improve more in time, so starting a new game ain't that bad anyway.

10 years down the line, you might come back to this and take sheer delight in starting a new game, so ... mindfulness lol.

You're a legend thank you. I just loaded the autosave before I went up the stairs to the cutscene and he was miraculously downstairs afterwards asking to speak to me in private.

He was nowhere before and I went to the top of the crane again as per the map marker only to find nothing.

Yeah deleting all my saves after the talk upstairs then loading up a save before the talk disabling auto save,
Going through cut scene again came downstairs and there he was

For me, none of the above worked. I've downloaded and installed the "UETools - Developer Console. Debugging" Mod from nexusmods for Stalker 2. Then, ingame, in Slag Heap, before the entrance into the building. Hit F10 (to open the console) and typed the following command:

XTeleportNPCToPlayer Richter

and here you go, Richter spawned right before me and I could progress the main story. :)

So far (31.12.2024), you can still get achievements while having mods installed.

I've noticed sometimes items do not appear. But when I reload a save they suddenly appear?

I think this game has rendering issues.
