Transfer Gamesave from Game Pass to Steam

What's up Stalkers

Wanting to switch where you enter the zone ? It's actually really easy.

1.

Create game save on Stalker 2 on steam.

2.

Go to save file locations

For Steam it should be
C:\Users\<your_username>\AppData\Local\Stalker2\Saved\Steam\SaveGames

For Game Pass it should be
C:\Users\your_username\AppData\Local\Packages\GSCGameWorld.S.T.A.L.K.E.R.2HeartofChernobyl_6fr1t1rwfarwt\SystemAppData\xgs\<long_string_of_characters>\SaveGames

3.

Remove the Data Folder in Steam Folder

There will be a Data folder and two SAV files
Delete the Data Folder in the steam

4.

Copy & Paste the Contents into the Steam Folder from Game Pass Folder

5.

Now get back into the zone stalker, and remember trust no one in the zone.

What do i do if there is no xgs folder? I'm trying to go from Gamepass to Steam with my saved game of 50+ hours and I cannot find xgs anywhere, only 2 folders in that destination called Helium and wgs

Did you look into the files more? What was in the wgs folder? If there is another folder with a long string of characters check there.

is there a way to keep both save files and have one in a different save slot? i started playing on gamepass and then got it on steam, i started a new game to experience different dialogue choices but i want both saves

Maybe ? I didn’t try this, so I’m not too sure.

You could try though. I would back up your “SavedGames” for both in case it ends up messing with the game.

In the “data” folder on Xbox game pass there is a bunch of .sav files take the most recent file in there (make sure you look at the timestamp so you know when the save occurred) and drop it the steam folder “data”.

Test to see if save is there on Stalker 2 steam. If so let us know!

Like Steam -> Game Pass? It would the same thing just opposite.

would assume some kinda save editor is needed as both files are "slot1" maybe that's why

ok so figured it out i created a new game in slot 2 and renamed the last save file from gamepass to the file name from steam and then replaced the file
