i don't understand
So, i choose the strelok ending, and he went into the pot.

my questions;

1.since he went into the pot, he became the c-con, even if there had to be 8, as far as i knew?

2. when the zone is now under lockdown, how can he defend himself if everyone dies with time? he can't control everything right? like the doctors couldn't? or else why would the c-con have monoliths?

3. someone said to me:
" Skif is too lazy to get a job and rent new apartment and also a crook that stole his service pistol when he retired from the military. Also not very bright, considering that he is given an artifact, which going by both previous games lore where they cost a lot of money and new game lore where artifacts fall apart outside the zone so this is one of a few that actually exist, doesn't sell it and goes into the zone to recharge it and see if something maybe happens.

Skif is basically a dum-dum and his motivation is that he doesn't know any better. Kind of like doing a 1 INT fallout run."

is this true?

4. the game feels empty, there's no ending that's actually good in my opinion, even when people say streloks ending is a good thing. strelok just takes away the last hope people have. a future as a stalker, to go and live in the zone and make a new life.
i think strelok is just so obsessed with the zone he would rather put it in a cage then let it be. i think the zone can handle itself, it just has to "grow" and understand how to defend itself. only my opinion?

i know it's a bit of a reading here, but i don't get the lore and never played the games before. i just need some answers because either i'm getting things wrong or just didn't quite understand. i hope a veteran can explain these things to me

thanks tho

8 people are needed with usual way of activating pods. We use artefact "Heart of Chernobil" (HoCh) that allows to go into noosphere alone.
He is not C-Con, since C-con is this 7 scientist's minds. He is by his own.

2. when the zone is now under lockdown, how can he defend himself if everyone dies with time? he can't control everything right? like the doctors couldn't? or else why would the c-con have monoliths?
C-con needed Monolith to defend them since they were "incomplete" and could not withstand noosphere pressure and could not control on it. That is why Zone appeared - 7 scientists in the damaged device could not hold the power and an explosion occured. Artefact HoCh gives full control, so no power leak.

Apartment is too expencive. He has to work ~10 years or more only to have money for fthe first payment, without which he will not be allowed to buy an apartment. Before that he has to live somewhere. He is a 25 years soldier that means no expierence in wolking, so no money-making jobs are avaluble.
About pistol - may be he do not stole it, but get as award for good service. Or even buy by himself.
About artifact - he could not sell discharged artefact. Who can say it is an artifact? It is new one. nobody knews about it and its propereties. So he needed to recharge it.

But all this does not change the fact that the Skif is not particularly smart. Really, he is smart for soldier, and that is all.

As for me, this ending is not good one. By lore Strelok was C-Con agent with buggy firmware, that cause him memory loss.
He seems to become obessed by Zone.

This artifact gives you ability to withstand noosphere pressure on the mind and interact with it by oneself without brain damage. So, in some sense, yes, it gives control over the zone.
