In the name of science - wait for your reward from Scherba

I disabled the scanner with buckshot - went back to the roofed warehouse, found a stalker outside talking about how Scherba is a weirdo who wants increasingly dangerous mutants. Door is locked and its now on the step "Wait for your reward from Sherba"... I went and did other things up to "Subtle Matter" and he still hasn't contacted me. I already had a Guass Rifle drop from a Mono during a random encounter so I'm not sweating it, however I was wondering if the quest was bugged of if I had to progress even futher into the story for him to contact me.

Hmm I had trouble with one of the mutants spawning on that mission and it was before subtle matter, I never tried again after that mission
