Traders in Rostok and Yaniv train station have nothing to sell.
I am currently doing quests around Cordon and the Rookie Village. But I decided to just get to Yaniv and Rostok so I could fast travel there when I needed to get there. (and frankly I wanted to see how those parts of the Zone looked in the game compared to the original trilogy). But NONE of the traders have anything to sell. Not even ammo. None of them. I can sell stuff, and if I go back to them before logging off.... they still have what I sold them. But if I save and then load... they have nothing to sell again. ""Any help??

I have no mods that affect the traders accept one that allows me to sell broken weapons.

Did u get main missions there?
It would be OP to go to Yaniv, buy and fullu upgrade exos in early game;)
LOL no i have not gotten the mission to go there. I just wanted to see the zone and appreciate it before I had to concentrate on quests.

I have thousands of hours playing the first trilogy and the CoS mod. I just wanted to scope it all out. So I kind of ran there.

So I am guessing that they do not propagate stuff to sell if you are not "supposed" to be there??
Or it's to keep you from cheesing the game.
I went to rostok after lesser zone for the same reason and same as you nothing to buy and no side quests...I then went to garbage did some of the main story and then noticed a couple of side quests had popped up at rostok went back and all the vendors had stuff to buy
Okay,
Yeah, I found the same issue in the Cement factory region. But I do have a few quests in the area. Well, picked up a few blue random quests. I did a lot of quests in Cordon and garbage, and sidrovitch always had stuff to sell. LOL. I even went into the swamps and got all the way to the fog of war area towards the clear sky base before I just went to the Garbage and Cordon.

I just want to admire the zone a bit. It does seem sad that they sort of punish 'sightseeing' after putting all this amazing work into the zone.

THanks for the help, I hope just doing the quest chain does it.
That's strange. Whenever I go to those locations right out of Zalissya. They sell me everything they normally would no matter what point you are in the game. Some of the side quests won't progress until you're sent there from the main story line quests though.
The first time I hit rostock, I remember being able to buy stuff, and then I left and came back, and ever since then, neither places have anything to sell.

the story progress shouldn't stop that from happening unless they secretly fixed that exploit in 1.1.4.....
I dont know, I just know it sucks LOL. It seems counter intuitive to punish your players from exploring.

What "exploit?" Didn't the promotional material say "The Zone is yours."?
In my XBOX game all the traders are currently broken but in favour of the player. You can generate infinite money in every trader. The moment you open the Trading screen, you start with roughly +20,000 coupons, without offering any inventory for sale. Every time you hit confirm, your coupons go up. Takes a lot of self discipline not to abuse this! The traders' inventory seems to work fine everywhere though. As an aside, all trading is broken. Even the trading you can do with random people you meet on the way has a similar problem. However, the "free" coupons you get are roughly 9,000 and, as the mobs have a cap of 700, it means you cannot trade anything.

well Yea but that gear is not suppose to be accessed until later in story, most players don't know about that location until a story mission takes them too it (I never did on my first playthrough)

It's an open world. The entire point is that you can discover advantageous stuff, and experience various things "in a different order".

You assert "not supposed to be accessed". Says who? And more importantly, why step up to defend any such concept, in an "open world" (and single-player) game?

says the developers because the story mission design, You can explore yes but no story misison even goes to the west or north bit of the map until past half way into game, You can explore sure but the developers most likely are talking about the zone around the story mission you are currently working on, not jumping ahead to others, Proof of this is certain bases and side missions are only accessible during certain points of the story
