Saiga seems pretty op?
Semi automatic magazine fed shotgun in a game where every encounter happens within 90 meters. What could go wrong?

After finding a half broken saiga, dumped my fully upgraded spas12 to the trash bin. The difference is night and day. Penetration is better by default, recoil is less and reload feels like 25 times faster.

Bloodsuckers were already dying left and right spas, but reload could be problematic once there were multiple. It feels like this ak shotgun has no downsides even without upgrades? Weapon balance - or the lack of it - is so cheeki breeki.

You have something like ~1400 DPS with semi-auto shotguns against ~400 with most types of assault rifles. It is indeed OP.

SVD-U (or whatever it's called, shortened version of SVD) - comes second with ~700 dps.

I have a cheap ass $400 Saiga clone on order from PSA just because of the Saiga in the STALKER series lol. All the reviews surprisingly say it function damn well for being so cheap too lol. I've shot a real Saiga chamber in 5.45 irl so basically an AK and enjoyed that. So I can't wait to go pick it up!

Visit the technician at Yaniv. She is the best tech in the game because she can fully upgrade just about everything from what I've seen. Most importantly the Diamond Exoskeleton!

how about we just buff other guns instead
diversity is a good thing right?
Once you nerf the op ones, the other ones become automatically valid options = more diversity. This weapon tiering and arbitrarily making some weapons like aks weaker is actually reducing the diversity, since later weapons are clearly better even if they use the same bullet.

because it's an incredibly unpleasant weapon to use.

Then use the weaker ones. No one is forcing you to use the OP weapon.

I'm still using the SPAS-12 and enjoying it. Except for the very slow reloading lol.

Its Op because of the faster reload speed where as others can only do a few shells at a time

the spas 14 is good too if you don't mind the slower reload

I adore SPAS-12. It feels awesome to kill bloodsucker in less than second. I just wish saiga was not superior and every single way, its just bad balancing here. But I understand why tiers are a thing.
I outright prefer the SPAS, if it weren't for the reload. And even then, it's bearable if you avoid dumping that last round.

Does about the same damage, or more, and the recoil is more manageable too. Thing deletes suckers. Plus it seems to have more durability.

Wrong and wrong. According to the game data itself, saiga has more penetration (3 vs 2.4), so you actually need less shots to kill a sucker. It also has more durability than spas. To me it also seems like spas has more recoil. So there is no reason to use spas other than if you want to nerf yourself. The same probably applies to ram2, even though it has same pen and damage as saiga, but way longer reload time.
