Malachite Hostile?
After the mission in which you defend Malachite from the WARD attack the entire base turned hostile for some reason?
It also gave me a mission where the scientists think I'm "the boogeyman" and told me to lay low until they forgive me.
I waited about a week and the mission seemed to go away, now when I go to the base there is two WARD exo soldiers who are completely immortal and instantly one shot me on veteran. I tried turning it down to rookie for testing and they just eat 4 mags of armor piercing sniper rounds to the head, their outfit looks like WARD, and they kill me in about 3-4 bullets.

I was thinking of saying ♥♥♥♥ it and just storming the base to I can stash my loot (thats all I want to do) and the doors are locked anyways.
Anyways to fix this?

What happens is that the mission ends, and you're explicitly told to leave. At the moment the mission ends, Malachite has become part of "ward". When this happens, killing Ward soldiers around Malachite means you're attacking Malachite's guards, which makes the game think you're attacking Malachite.

The solution is to immediately run away as soon as your objective completes, and then finish the mission. Every time you come back, you now must use the secret entrance without attacking the Wardens guarding the main doors.
Yeah this makes more sense to me, but you would think that you fully staying and defending the base would prevent WARD from taking over the base, same how you defend the starter town from Monolith.
You can't. It's a set point in the story, and the idea is that Ward has enough resources to keep sending men. They're fully funded and recruit from out of the zone, while having more modern tech than Monolith. On top of that, they can even field far more exos than Monolith. And newer ones at that.

I could see that, especially early on when the monolith hasn't fully organized. But I think the mind control aspect of monolith does make them a greater threat than WARD later on, even more so when you reach Pripyat. Also don't forget that the monolith starts recruiting as soon as they kick back up again.

Still don't think ANY base or settlement should have unkillable guards tho, if they keep sending them at you that's one thing, but immortal? Just seems lazy.

I don't see it as lazy. I see it as the story making it clear that you're doing something you're not supposed to.

It locked out for me as well. I got back in by taking a guide there and he put me directly inside the base.

I managed to do Black Sheep by shooting the ward dudes before they interact with me, I was able to shoot one near the door and didn't get the rep decrease. However this just tags the scientist there as dead even though he was alive the whole time during, so yeah I guess?

But then, after i'm thanked for helping him out by the scientist lady at the desk in malachite, but afterwards all the NPCS are now in the red afterwards, this cannot be intentional.

The only sound explanation is that the reputation gain is reversed. If im wrong, the entire thing needs changed because its deeply confusing.
This is a glitch, their reputation is broken

The problem is, if you progress far into the game to the point where you interact with Scar, the secret doorway becomes locked. At that point, only way to go in and out is through a guide.

Hell I don't really care about the scientists, but Malchite is the only base in the east side and a lot of quest happens in areas near to it. I hate running all the way from Rostok to go to quests. Now I can't even exit the base anymore. Do yourself a favor and unlock Yaniv Station after Malchite goes hostile.

This is not the case.
I have progressed past first meeting Scar, and also progressed to the point where I can choose to side with him or spoilery guy.

Even all red, Malachite remains open for business. You can enter under the secret tunnel, you just have to wait for the guards to calm tf down and then the door unlocks. Fast travel dumps you straight inside.

Just wanted to point out that this and other posts related to the Ward attack causing the reputation to go down is not true and that there's some other factor causing the reputation bug to happen, possibly related to the "Black Sheep" quest, since even if you progress in that quest before fighting off the Ward attack it still lowers your reputation with Malachite after returning the data to the professor

Ditto. Malachite becoming hostile during this mission really does not make any sense whatsoever. Seems like there is one too many subtraction operators in the code to reverse the rep gains. My Zelessya got botched too but I couldn't be bothered to play it again and fix it with console commands and whatnot, and for that, I'm leaving this too as it is and just continuing. I just hope this will not repeat with every settlement during my first playthrough.

Definitely waiting for some more patches before starting the second.

damn, i really love this game so far and i am surprised how many bugs the first patches fixed already but the further i progress the more huge bugs appear. Like this really affects gameplay and not in a good way lol
