Malachite Hostile?
After the mission in which you defend Malachite from the WARD attack the entire base turned hostile for some reason?
It also gave me a mission where the scientists think I'm "the boogeyman" and told me to lay low until they forgive me.
I waited about a week and the mission seemed to go away, now when I go to the base there is two WARD exo soldiers who are completely immortal and instantly one shot me on veteran. I tried turning it down to rookie for testing and they just eat 4 mags of armor piercing sniper rounds to the head, their outfit looks like WARD, and they kill me in about 3-4 bullets.

I was thinking of saying ♥♥♥♥ it and just storming the base to I can stash my loot (thats all I want to do) and the doors are locked anyways.
Anyways to fix this?

The scientists and Ward are allied, you kill a bunch of Wardens, they'll hate you.

weird that they didn't seem to care before when I took down atleast a few dozen WARD on my way out of SIRCAA but I guess that makes sense. Still don't see why they would put unkillable guards around a base just because they are a bit angry, feel like If I want to clear out a whole base just so I can stash my stuff thats my choice.

Also weird design choice to have one of the two story options you choose cut you off from the entire western portion of the map. I don't recall any other stalker game making multiple factions hate you because you angered just one.

Same answer for you guys, it's the same problem I had, I liked ecologists in the last games and hated SIRCAA in this one but they've become one and the same essentially. You go against the ward, you go against SIRCAA, and if you go against SIRCAA, you're going against the scientists.

Same answer for you guys, it's the same problem I had, I liked ecologists in the last games and hated SIRCAA in this one but they've become one and the same essentially. You go against the ward, you go against SIRCAA, and if you go against SIRCAA, you're going against the scientists.

Yes I see how that makes sense. However, its a little odd that after you defend their base from a literal ward attack that they see you as an enemy!? Its a little jarring isnt it? I mean they're literally siding with the faction who attacked them

Yeah, I'm wondering the same. I guess they took over the base anyway? Scientists probably don't care much as to who's in charge, but they are (were) distinct from SIRCAA.

You're not defending the scientists from the ward attack per se, you're defending Scar and the Spark faction who are hiding out there.

What happens is that the mission ends, and you're explicitly told to leave. At the moment the mission ends, Malachite has become part of "ward". When this happens, killing Ward soldiers around Malachite means you're attacking Malachite's guards, which makes the game think you're attacking Malachite.

The solution is to immediately run away as soon as your objective completes, and then finish the mission. Every time you come back, you now must use the secret entrance without attacking the Wardens guarding the main doors.

same here, this issues feels insane, I can travel to their base, but cant really use it, okay if wards are hostile, I can kill them and go on selling their goods, but why are there even buffed guys, okay, Im also fine with 10x damage from them shredding my best armor from 100 to 0 in 10-20 seconds, but they are also unkillable for some reason, thats ridicilous!!!

Yeah that's the part that felt like a glitch to me the most. Does this happen to every base that turns hostile? I seemed to be able to escape the Chemical Plant while killing everyone no problem. Why are there random WARD guards at Malachite that are invincible? Surely they wouldn't have made that on purpose right? But they are invincible AND super buffed?

Also yes you are correct about the reducing armor thing, when I turned it down to rookie and fought them, surviving even a few bursts completely ruined my armor and gave me the achievement for having a 0% durability item.

Yeah this makes more sense to me, but you would think that you fully staying and defending the base would prevent WARD from taking over the base, same how you defend the starter town from Monolith.

I don't believe this is intentional wtf. I've waited bout 2 days now hoping for a patch because of "black sheep" and this other defense mission for tarnishing my reputation.

If this was true, the malachite mission where you have to choose to give the data to the ward soldiers or the scientists during the confrontation in "black sheep mission" makes even less sense.

The scientists want me to help the scientist in the "black sheep" mission, but if i give him the data i lose rep, but if i give it to ward, i gain rep?

But then, after i'm thanked for helping him out by the scientist lady at the desk in malachite, but afterwards all the NPCS are now in the red afterwards, this cannot be intentional.

The only sound explanation is that the reputation gain is reversed. If im wrong, the entire thing needs changed because its deeply confusing.

Well, anyway thanks for the suggestion for pulling the enemies away from malachite. It worked.

I also managed to solve "black sheep" mission in the same manner, luckily. Just don't kill the wardens near the scientists and your good.
