I guess, the swamp is going to be the place where my playthrough ends
Everything is broken because there's no mechanic on Sevchenko. I managed to disable all the beacons, but then game threw Chimera at me. Since I have nothing to shoot it with, I ran away from it, but then the emission started. No way to survive that because the nearest shelter is 400 meters away. Game REALLY wants me to quit, it seems.

Thats not the games fault thats you not being prepared correctly I got past the swamp fine

Given that "preparing" involves a 10-minute walk to the nearest mechanic who can fix SEVA and all my weapons, and then a 10-minute walk back, that's not my fault but rather bad design. Not to mention the emission starting right when there's absolutely no way to find a shelter.

the emission is story related and will always happen, you just need to have a couple of energy drinks to hand and you will be fine, also don't run in a straight line. the chimera likes to jump.

There is the second ship in Zaton which has the full range of traders (bar, medic, weapons) & tech.

Also, go to the swamp during daylight. I also would advice you to do the optional mission for the psi-suit (Ikarus base). One of those parameters let me do the swamp on my second run without the Chimera appearing.

Once you know how, the swamp is really a walk in the park.

Btw - those emittrs can be shot with a sniper rifle.

The most important one: don't try to hide from the emission. It isn't a normal one. What you have to do here (as in really) - go towards your mission objective. There (and only there) you'll have shelter after deactivating the last thing at Clear Sky base. The shelter is underground.

Thier is shelters everywhere near the player the game gives you plenty of time to reach them all, if you aren't reaching them in time then you are carrying too much gear or taking a bad path (I know the swamp water slows ya down) stay on grass sections and you can move faster

Okay, I'm much calmer now. I'll go back a few saves and see what I can do.

But this situation is pure BS.

I can relate - that's basically me before (and after) fighting Elden Ring bosses. :lunar2019grinningpig:

The emission and chimera are scripted. You're supposed to run and make it inside just in time.

I loaded an earlier save, went back, repaired my gear and am now farming artefacts. The swamp is still on my to-do list.
