Should i kill the guy in the poppyfield

Hi, i found the icon for Mityay in the camp pomer however gives me a rifle when i sell the icon to him he says i can't get this weapon anywhere else in the zone here's the kicker though when i sell him the icon and take the rifle i can just kill him and take the icon for mityay back but should i do that?
Is he an important character?

I hadn't encountered the NPC ever again within 2 playthroughs after his interaction at the Poppy Field, though he presumably has some connection or trade network set up with Ragman in Rostok according to his PDA. I think you're safe to do whatever you want with the NPC.

Killing free stalkers for no reason is bad for your in-game reputation. And sometimes it’s better not to kill an NPC, even if he’s a complete a-hole.

What reputation, There is none. You can kill an entire camp with enemies spawning out of thin air and and some point the will wont aggro and you can go a do business with them again.

Yes, you can kill him. It won't have an impact on anything in the game and you'll get extra goodies and a reward out of it. I executed most of the characters after I helped them and have gotten the reward or agreed to spare them for info and such.

He seemingly lures people to their deaths so he can sell their stuff. Guy is trash, i killed him with a clear conscience.

Yes you should kill him. So you can get double reward in that quest.

That rifle is just AR416 with a unique name. Do not bother.
Pretty cool for the very first zone (if you manage it get ammo for it), but there are plenty of better options.
