zalissya quest issue
alright so my quest was originally bugged with just the main buildings door being locked with stalkers outside guarding the building but a few minutes ago I heard guy on the radio saying the base is lost, go back and everyone is just dead? Is that what happens in the quest regardless?

I'm having the same issue. From some research trying to fine if there is a work around. Nope, and to answer if this happens regardless no there is a side quest that involves it. I mean you can move on and let them die. Which i have found that if you reach spark for the next main mission then that radio chatter comes on. It sucks cause i personally want to do the mission, but can't. So you can keep going and they will stay dead or wait for a new patch. I have found that if you kill the NPCs outside the doors will unlock and you can sometimes talk to Gaff which will give you the side quest it's kinda spotty though and i would prefer not to so I'm gonna wait for a patch. If you are gonna try this make sure you save before hand. Good Luck

I did see a work around involving downloading a mod that gives you access to console commands and then you just no clip through the doors but I'm trying to avoid downloading any mods on my first playthrough

Huh? After 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 it should be fine. Sometimes stalkers stuck inside and you can't open the door normally, but it's possible

Yeah, I'm on 1.0.2, went to Zalissya it was nearly empty but a few NPCs around, yet I could hear some gunfire, but going towards the source of the sound only made the sound move elsewhere.
When approaching the main building the NPC there said "We somehow managed to fight them off, go to <whatever his name was> he'll share whatever supplies he can" but the doors were locked anyway.
And then once I reached the next checkpoint for the main quest I got the notice through the radio that Zalissya is no more.

the quest is still bugged in various parts, even after the updates. I did manage to find a way to get the doors to unlock and open for me though, and progressed through to complete the quest.

There's a building to the south of Zalissya that contains a bloodsucker or two, or there's usually bandits at the oil refinery to the northwest of Zalissya, but the tactic was to lead either of the two into town and to the door thats locked. When I approached with mobs behind me, both Foreigner Bob and his buddy stand up and repel what you brought in. After that, they'll sit back down and the door becomes unlocked. I tried it with both and it worked both times to unlock the door.. after trying for hours.

Also, during the quest, there's reports of Monolith soldiers not spawning right, but also the defense team can also get stuck. I didn't have any problems with the soldiers not spawning in, but the defense squad stuck on the 2nd attempt. The way I fixed it was finding the angle of attack the monoliths were coming from (1st wave - south, 2nd wave - east, 3rd wave - east, 4th wave - north, 5th wave - west / south) and luring the enemy towards the defense squad that was stuck. Once engaged, they fight it out until its done.

Can't guarantee this is a fix all for this quest, but I managed to complete it after multiple times and approaches from Garbage, and each time the door was locked. Strangely, it seems like the two outside NPC's just need to reset their positions to trigger the door to unlock.

in my game monolith all spawned inside the house and none of the quests would run properly, seriously WTF is going on, are the devs not playtesting anything?????????
