Why do the scientists hate me?

I just did the Malachite ambush and killed all the ward. I made sure not to kill any scientists or spark members but still got the side mission that they hate me? Has this happened to anyone else?

Had the same thing, pretty sure since the scientists are closely related to SIRCAA and the whole point of the Ward is to protect SIRCAA, going against the ward automatically makes you enemies with the scientists.

Happened in my Spark/Scar playthroguh too, during the defense the sidequest "hostile scientists" popped up and since then can't enter Malachite because it's full of warden guards outside.

But i read that you can still enter Malachite through the sewer entrance to get to the shops, but for some people the door seems shut, for others open.

When you kill the Ward and escape, Ward overtakes Malachite anyway, and forces Malachite scientists to work for them, and not work with anyone Spark-related.

I've learned that by teleporting through closed doors via console after I saw they hate me, that's what they told me when I've tried to speak with them.
