Arena challenge

I cruised through all rounds up to "the finals" but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to kill tyrant. Ive mag dumped all the ammo that is given plus a few extra rounds from ♥♥♥♥ guns scatters around.

I know the solution has to be something to do with the explosive barrels on the corner of his starting platform, I have blown him up 4 times and nothing happened so im pretty sure once he gets blown up and falls over you need to do something but like.....what exactly? I walked over to him and mag dumped his face each time, didnt work.

Anyone dealt with this quest? more than sure Im missing something super simple here lol
