Since I sold the first (and probably others) extended mag I found, will I never find another?
I sold one early in the game. Just recently learned that it's compatible with the Dnipro and no trader I go to seems to ever have it. I also seem to have looted the only 2 stashes that have it already. Am I just boned, or is there a way to find one somehow?

Also, will the extended magazine still work if I ever find the blueprint that converts the caliber to 7.62?

They are special things. Don't sell them. Or any other attachments you might find.

You may be able to find an additional extended magazine. If you have these 2 below then you may be boned.
**SPOILER** This link will tell you exactly where to find 2 extended mags.:

The attachment is based on the firearm and not the caliber. The extended mag will still work if you change calibers.

I've looted both places already, sadly. I never would've sold it if I knew it was compatible with another weapon. When they call it the AKM-74 Extended Magazine, one tends to think it would only be compatible with, oh, I don't know, the AKM-74...
You might come across the coupled dnipro mags, which are better imho.

I've sold at least a couple of those, too :( I found a Kharod early in the game and thought I'd be using that for the rest of my play through. So I gave up Valik's AKM-74S that I'd been using since the beginning and sold everything AKM related that I found afterwards. But I only recently learned that the Dnipro is better. and when I looked up compatible attachments and saw the AKM extended mag, my heart sank.

Wait, are the coupled Dnipro mags different to the coupled AKM mags? Like, are they actually two different items?
Kharod is competitive enough with the Dnipro and some people prefer it. There is also the Zubr as a solid option. Run the Dnipro on another playthrough once the game is finished development.
I sometimes find a second extended mag for guns like the RPK box. It's safe to sell the duplicates.

I found the coupled magazines for it. Then I went to the trader at slag heap and found the AKM extended mag that I must've sold to him -_-
