Yes. It is rather buggy and parts seem rushed, but it is a proper continuation of the series. The zone is huge now. The plot is good once you understand it a bit, but a little opaque since in one given run you'll only see one side of it.

Hello please read this first, thanks
"Too buggy, frequent crashes. FPS will drop to unplayable levels on a constant basis. This game is not a finished product."
oh, I guess I'll wait when the game becomes a bit more polished

no. come back if and when they finish development. then pay appropriately.
I sugest you wait atleast till the next big update and see how things are than.

To be honest i would wait with buying it untill its on sale with a good amount of discount.

To awnser your question what i do like:

I like the storyline, and how its line cross at times, making it posible to switch sides a couple of times,
the masive open world, with loads to explore and find,
outside the "bases" you never can feel really safe because you dont know what ahead, or wen i deadly emmission is going to happen,
Side missions wich sometimes give you really great rewards,
The choice of Weapons,
Trading stuff,
That you can upgrade almost anything,
You can lure oponents into Anomaly's.

And that you can lure a powerfull Mutant to Enemy NPC's that wil make your job easier for you.
Done that twice during my play trough, once with a Pseudogiant, wich they managed to kill, but he killed all of them exept 3, one i had already sniped, and i gues the last 2 managed to kill it, and i just had to deal with 2 lightly armored NPC's wich my shotgun made short work off.
And once with 2 Bloodsuckers that i lured at a group of Enemy NPC's wich than had something else on there mind than shooting me and i had a chance to run away with out getting into a fight.

For real, the game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks at the moment becasue of bugs, crashes (a lot!!) that make you waste time, fps dropping during an important boss fight, AI of the enemy non existent (You can shot a shotgun next to the ear of an enemy soldier and they don't even bother if their back is turned); the game is clearly unfinished. I suggest to wait about 6-12 months, I bought the game on instant gaming for a low price and pushed by people that said: "Nooo, they fixed the game now, you can buy it they patched a lot of bug!!". Other than that the story is cool, the map is great (big and full of place to visit, except the swamp), the weapons are great, the economy system could be better (most of your money could go in repairs of your fav gear), so for me is a solid 6 for now
post specs and then we can tell you if its worth you even considering it.
for starters you will need a 12gb vram gpu or more as 8 just isnt enough.

Its worth it but expect some bugs to happen its still work in progress fixing it.

avoid the Ward side (Zotov), stalker side (Gaffer) storyline works fine

Come back in a year & ask again...

Right now it feels like I'm playing a Far Cry title with all the Ai spawning around me in a bubble, wait until they legit add the "A-life" system & improve the base game more.

If you have played the original games this one is a mild letdown lacking features stripped away last minute. Thus leaving a half baked "1.0 release" for devs to fix/balance for the next few years like Cyberpunk 1.0.

Playing it now would ruin the overall experience once the game has been ironed out more with patches later this year & more content.

I'd wait it out. Hopefully the next big patch makes some good progress on things. There's a lot of fun to be had, but there's some glaring issues. Kind of depends on your temperament and how patient you are.
The game is amazing. This is the best stalker experience and combines the best from the previous games. I am not rushing my enjoyment, already 80 hours in and far from finishing.

I tend to assess value as a dollar/euro per hour investment. I am fine spending 15 bucks on a cinema movie that lasts 2 hours, Stalker has been a great return on investment and will likely tip me beyond 100 hours of enjoyment, it is a steal.
Nah, crashes too much. frustrating.

No not at all. It's best to play the old Stalkers again and hope that the devs are able to get this one as close to the quality of the old ones as possible,

If you need to be convinced to play it now, you probably shouldn't. Come back later.
It's a fun baby's 1st survival sim, basically and the graphics are really good. It's the 1st UE5 game that's really exploited all that fidelity and mods can push it beyond that, too.

Then there's the dialogue, all great with compelling, interesting characters.

I never finished because of the bugs. Decided to put it down and wait for the fixes. Lots of fixes are out now and I have it installed but I need to see some good A-Life mods before I really get interested in playing it again.
If you have a monster system, it's great.

If your PC has any flaws or weaknesses, this game WILL expose them.
