You don't have to sneak every where just listen and be aware of your surroundings; play smart and learn the quirks of the game.
but if I was you I would play shadow of chernobyl first because the events of that are before stalker 2, the first game is still amazing even today and doesn't feel dated at all

Guess you did not play the game? Events and Characters from Shadow of Chernobyl, Clear Sky and Call of Prypjat all play a roll in Heart of Chornobyl.
Idealy you would have played all 3 first before this game.
No clear sky and call of pripyat were only side projects they don't have anything to do with stalker 2 accept for a few maps, and some of the new zones in stalker 2 aren't even in the first 3 games
most of the zones in stalker 2 are from the original shadow of chernobyl
Playing older games may not be necessary, but their characters and locations most definitely DO play a role in HoC.
