Wait this game is on GamePass?
Why would i ever buy this game if i can just use a 12$ gamepass, and finish the game in like 7 days?

Pretty sure the "game pass" module is the future of gaming.
Remember - you dont even own the games you have on steam, its just a digital rent.

You're just a digital rent

You don't get pre-order bonuses or the future expansions with gamepass.

Buying in once grants you access, theoretically, forever. Game pass requires back to back monthly payments in order to have access to your games.

I’d rather pay a one time fee and have access to my games (in theory) forever, not until I do away with my game pass.
It is.. but I rather having it on steam tbh, there is a possible even differences in smooth gameplay if played from gamepass vs steam.

I like to take my time with stalker games - explore, do sidequest etc'. Maybe install a few mods a couple years later and play again.

If you play it to "just finish it", go ahead and get it on gamepass.

I remember back in the golden age of gaming when you bought a game it was yours, forever, in the form of a physical copy. No need for a constant connection to the internet, so long as you had electricity you could even play it in the most remote regions. Some of us enjoy having a collection.

These days I keep my digital copies on external hard drives - plug and play, baby!

Also, can you mod games that are on subscription? What made the STALKER franchise ascend into legend were mods just like with the Elder Scrolls.

I enjoyed those days as well. I presume once downloaded I will be able to play this version without an internet collection.
When I got the original on disc 17 years ago I think it was about 6GB. This version would take about 6 blue ray discs.
My friend is getting stalker 2 on Gamepass he says it has only downloaded 10GB so far despite what has been reported in the press about 140GB downloads.

Why would you ever buy this game instead of renting it on game pass? I can't answer that.

I would never buy it on game pass because i will be modding the hell out of it and playing it for 700 hours and not 7.

Ill try it on gamepass. If its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ (which it will be probably) then i am glad that i havent bought it. If its good, then ill get it. Since games these days have become a massive joke nowdays it would be smart to have GamePass these days

i just received a nice steel box and some other goodies which made me smile. you don't get that from game pass. also these devs deserve the money, even if the game only keeps you busy for 7 hours.

Slightly offtopic but can someone with an active PC/Ultimate Pass check something for me? Active users user to be able to send up to five refferal codes that came with 14 day trial to new users but they removed paid 14 day trial prior to BO6 release. Are these refferals still there or they removed them too?

a better question is why doesn't Game Pass come with servers for your games? you pay a subscription fee to play all those games-several of which offer third party dedicated servers because they're so multiplayer focused and such time sinks, but there are no in house servers on offer? microsoft can't handle or afford server space or something? what's up with that? you can't get ANY dedicated servers for your games on Game Pass? not even with Ultimate? doesn't sound very ultimate to me.

I didn't know you could do this, so I checked. I'm subbed to Ultimate for a couple more years. It says I'm not eligible. "Offer only available to paid Game Pass and Ultimate Members."

Either they are in transition to remove this, or maybe you need to be recurring. I don't have recurring on. Or it could be something else entirely.

so you think i should not play S2 on release, and wait for a few months for modders to create more and better content for the game ?
