I buy my games on Steam.
I am glad the option is there for people. Even here, someone trying it out on gamepass because they had gamepass is one more person that might buy it for real, compare to somebody who will never give it a shot because inflation is a bastard even to people with jobs. And so many, many games that will not show all their most devastating bugs or performance issues until after the refund window discourages blind faith buys even for devs you like (said admittedly, as an insane ultimate pre-order haver)
But some of us have friends hit by the "Gamepass phantasy star is taking up windows protected disk space forever now" and roll our eyes at "No man, they made gamepass less like malware you can't control honest!" reassurances. Even ignoring the comparative ease of modding (or when it is outright impossible on gamepass)
STALKER 2 is even more mods-friendly, so I am looking forward to play STALKER 2 ANOMALY/GAMMA versions... but I am not going to pay for game pass for 18 next years... Also there are 2 expansions planned and game pass only include base game, but never DLCs ans expansions...
