But in this Case i expect massive ups ans Downs in Download rate, which will further increase the time. Not Sure if this occurs with steams unpack aswell.
Lets Hope IT will be Like u said

It's because Stalker 2 has no DRM so if they allowed preloading then people would inevitably crack the game files and be able to play and leak information before release

getting early access to a game has ruined gaming noone wants broken garbage good for them for making a complete game what are you on about

I'm convinced at this point 95% of people talking about pre-load don't actually have the game and are just coming into the forum to stir up BS.

wow u just summed up steam forums

they can pre-load just the data files if they want. This whole piracy thing is sort of a flaccid argument.

The person has the game though...

No pre-DL at the cost of no DRM, ill take it.
The Bepis Man Nov 16, 2024 @ 9:08pm
I think it's only PC that has no pre-load, you can download it right now on xbox. Pretty sure the devs said it's because the game has no DRM on discord.

And if you have good internet, downloading is better than steam's unpack.
There is no preload, they have already confirmed it.

And as others have stated, this decision was made because Stalker 2 has no Denuvo or DRM from their side, so it will basically be "pirateable" as soon as the download is made available to the general public.

Which means if they allowed pre-loading, the people who pirate the game will (probably) be able to play it before those who bought/pre-ordered it, which is obviously bad.

I mean who cares if stuff gets out a day or 2 early? I don't see the big deal its not lkike veilguard where it was full of unwanted and unneeded woke slop that they were trying to keep silent as they knew it'd kill the game (and it has). Granted, I have fast enough internet I could download the game way faster than it would decrypt on release from a preload anyway. I basically never preload games as its a waste of time for me, but people with crappy net connections are going to feel some pain waiting for this as its a big game.

It's not even online game, why y'all crying about preload..
Xaser Nov 16, 2024 @ 9:49pm
valve encrypts all "preload" data and would have to unencrpt each file individually when the release happens which isnt ideal for many people.

A 160 GB Download is less ideal for most people.

A decryption shouldn't be a problem for a PC THAT CAN RUN STALKER 2 anyway
