That said I also have horrendous luck with edge case bugs. I can discover "So you got punched walking through a door. sending you outside of the map forever and your save auto-overwrote in that state" insanity.
If you are ever tempted to feel guilty for not having hard limited saves. Just remember. A big boy can delete their own saves. A call of duty baby needs their hand held as the game deletes for them, pats them on the head, and tells them they are so brave for dying to a physics glitched safety cone.
(Ink ribbon style saves just encourage rote memorization over skill anyways. no middle ground between low due to caution saves and a mountain of spares that way)
I can promise there isn't any of that "only save at base/campfire" stuff. thats a mod function, not from the base game
