Are S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 mechanics similar to those of Tarkov?
I've never played any of the stalkers, i don't know anything about stalker games other than it's open world and singleplayer. What i'm talking about are mechanics like reloading (do i need to insert every single round in the magazine?), weapon customization, health system, inventory space management ecc...

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is not a copy of Tarkov and does not try to be, S2 will only reload without charging each round, instead of a health system, a regular hp-bar, and weapon customization, everything is like in the original trilogy

Stalker games aren't fully open world.
No the games aren't that much similar.

Stalker is single player based, Tarkov multiplayer, it is hard to compare the games. In my opinion stalker is more beautiful, more immersive and more challenging then tarkov.
From what i remember the dev's of tarkov tried to catch the feeling of the stalker games and blend in a PVPVE sense to the game, but if you play the classic stalker games you would be remembered that you are just a guy in a zone, and everything and everyone is doing their own thing. You could watch mutant dogs hunting mutated pigs (or stalkers) killing them and dragging them of to their dens.

And people think it's going to be a completely new game!
GSC at its peak when it comes to illusions! XD
No matter what image, video or GIF it is, I see so much recycled material. LOL

It was only a matter of time until people started comparing it to tarkov smh. They're not the same games at all. All they got in common is that they're both first person shooters. But with that logic you could also compare it to battlefield, call of duty, sandstorm etc.

So ... that means it's like Tetris? I mean, both are on a console. Both are video games. Both have Slavik music in it.

It makes sense, since its the same location but the map layout will be different.
The NPP is not the farthest point up north anymore.

Yes people tend to overestimate what the system is actually doing. It is more of a illusion than a proper simulation. Atleast in the older games. Lets see if S2 is going to change things.
Sad that it won't be as good as stalker gamma. Guess modders will make the game better, can't wait for gamma 2

I think the devs did mention here and there that they take some inspirations from mods but its not going to be a hardcore experience like Gamma.

Thank you!
But in the end I hope people will be disappointed!

GSC was once again too bad to develop a new STALKER with vehicles! lmfao
They are just so awful. They should have simply used the weapon sounds from the older games. Which were from FireStarter!

I hope your first impression won't be ruined because you didn't play the previous parts of the Stalker franchise. The previous parts had their own atmosphere and key aspects that I think will be related to the second game. Tarkov and Stalker resemble to each other a little, but I'm not sure how much it will affect the final product. Let's wait for the release, and we'll conclude after the game session

The map layout in the OG games does not even support the use of vehicles. Initially I think vehicles were supposed to be used in specific locatons made for them. Like a old school Call of Duty action sequence with vehicles.

And then there were the problems of the X-Ray engine and its physics system that GSC never managed to resolve.

The reason why S2 wont have vehicles is because it does not need them, otherwise they could have included them easily this time around. The UE5 engine is easier to use and should even come with a system that supports vehicles.

If my memory is correct.

lol why would you want that?
Regardless if you are russian or not, which I dont know, it is in everyones interest that S2 ends up to be a good game.

It shows that they gave a damn about the criteria. Instead of improving the game concept, they just sell everything again. People are only happy about the game because of the crappy UE5 engine. The people just seem to forget, like with everything else in the world. And that's why I hope it disappoints. But 3 years later everyone would have forgotten it anyway.

First the game is nor even out yet and it is too early to make such claims.
Second GSC seems to make improvements on the game concept.
This time around we will have one big map instead of a semi open world system with levels.
Cinematics and voice acting seem to be on another level too.
The number of factions will be bigger this time around and they are supposedly more important for the outcome of the story. What faction you align with should carry more weight now.

Lets see what else the game will bring to the table.
