Info on main protagonist?

I didn't find much info. Who will we be playing as?

In an rpg-like game, i would like to know who i "will be". I am guessing a russian adventurer? Or a nonspecified foreign adventurer coming from abroad?

Is there character generation?

Nah, it is a serious question. I looked at the store page but they didn't write anything about the protagonist, i was wondering if someone would have more info and provide it.

You play a dude nicknamed Skif who found an artifact in his laundry basket (so outside of the zone). He takes it to the zone because it's worthless in this form as it needs to be charged but Skif finds himself in a fight between two rival factions and loses the artifact.

It is. Apparently someone is messing with the zone in a way that makes anomalies and their artifacts spawn outside of the perimeter.

I had hoped for more customization, but after all if i remember correctly, the previous stalker games also did not have the option to create your character.
