Can't wait to torture my steam deck
Can't wait to fiddle with the game and see what can be done in terms of performance.

Anyone else? :'D

Thats what i really wanna find out. Cyberpunk runs reasonably well with the right settings, even in dogtown (30 fps cap).

I mean its not ideal but very playable imo :D

Yup, but on a Rog Ally. Currently play Elden Ring, BG3, and Cyberpunk. They look good and play well. So I’m hoping Stalker will 🙏🏼

Doubt the deck can handle it, but we'll see.

No, I'm not going to try it on my Steam Deck, just because I'm terrible in shooters without a mouse. But I'm interested if it's going to work via Proton, that would be nice, so I don't have to reboot to Windows to play Stalker 2. Not really a big deal, just would be nice.

RIP to your steam deck :D

You want to talk torture? Until Christmas I'll be running this on a PC with the same benchmarks as the steam deck. Literally within 3 points.

It's a Ryzen 2700x overclocked to 4.0ghz and an AMD Vega 64 8GB that can virtualize up to 14GB of vRAM on demand at the cost of stability. It's the future-proof card the industry hated and allowed me to skip the overpriced insanity that was the "global chip shortage+covid.

Big part of the game are the astonishing visuals, so what's the point in playing this on Steam Deck?

serious question btw

People thought that about the original stalker also, especially the atmosphere and weather effects. Turns out we all fell in love with the gunplay and Janky ai. I'm not concerned about amazing visuals right away. I will be digging into the meat of the game.

0 games compatibility he says. You're lucky they don't ban for blatant lies lol.

Come to think of it I remember now a HUGE selling point of the original Stalker is that the devs actually spent a considerable time in the zone (some of the first allowed permissions into certain areas) and they applied photo-realistic textures in game so if you saw a tree stump in-game it was actually there in real-life also.

So.. I can appreciate detail hunters IF stalker devs took the time to update textures with something realistic and not cartoony like the unreal engine usually depicts. If the game ends up looking plastic and glossy I will not like it.

If it runs at min spec 30fps I’ll be happy. So long as min spec isn’t dog water and they have FSR 3 support to help in the grander sections, I may jump from the gamepass version to this version.
