Think is just that as the moderator said, it makes more sense to appeal to a broader audience with a more focused scope and reduced dev time, then let mods that cater for specific sections of the player base fill the void where appropriate and technically possible.
There will always be thousand people, all wanting their expectactions based on different memories and perception of the past be met. Never a good thing. Live in reality. Bring nothing.
Exactly! Damn, I wish everyone had our mindset. Let's all just wait for the game to release and buy it and enjoy it for what it is. It's their game to create - we have no say in it - so if we don't like it then we can just go play something else, simple as that, no crying. I for one have no idea what this game is supposed to be like, I haven't watched a single video, I have no preconceived expectations, but I'm buying it no matter what cuz it's STALKER.
ive enjoyed all of them and i really dont see why people feel that anomaly is so very different, sure gamma has quite a few mods that go beyond the original feel, but that wasnt my experience with anomaly. all it did was sandbox it really, but for me, it was all the same atmosphere, the same feel. and from what they showed so far, this is going to give that atmosphere too and thats good for me.
This is why I never cared to delve deep into any community. People who try to pretend like they're acting in the interest of a nebulous community are the worst.
I'm fine with a good game going mainstream. Means it gets more purchases, usually. Bigger following. More funding, new game. GSC went through hell, in several layers, to get this out. They have my respect for going the distance to get this made. As such, I pre-ordered. Am I part of the problem? Probably. Do I care? No. I'm down to support these devs. They worked hard, in the middle of a worst-case scenario. They can have my money.
