It would be fitting to get the same Gamescom-PAX-TGS demo along with the official game release (maybe even with zero changes), it might help to attract more buyers and it could explain all the secrecy for both 2023 and 2024 demo builds.
BUT I don't think we'll ever see it however, GSC's PR did everything they could to confuse me (and some others) so far. I, in place of GSC top, would release the demo at least 1 month before the launch and show MUCH more footage with as little spoilers as possible of course, and I would personally see to it that GSC record some juicy gameplay handled by a pro FPS player on keyboard and mouse and no talking every 6 seconds explaining what is happening.
And our time is limited, so we are focusing on S2 development. I guess everyone here wants to play the full game a bit more than just a demo.
Ah "polishing" the game dev excuse for... everything,
Capcom says hello.
In the 90's, pretty much every game on PC had a demo.
I guess games these days have become to large and complex to make a demo which sucks. Demos were super useful to see how the game agreed with your system.
Don't make me list the indie demos currently installed on my system. These demos are the reason I bought some of these games...
Tainted Grail
The Alters
Nangrim
Monomyth
Kenshi
Arx Fatalis (v old game, the community 'remaster' has a demo...)
and maybe a couple more...
It's honestly pathetic, to hope people will buy your expensive game with no demo. A demo will literally = better sales. And, to know that a demo DOES exist, but was only provided at a few shows, is just lame.
