Communication is always welcome but it must be always teamed up with actions.
GSC are not AAA but they are also not newcomers or 3 team indie developer studio.
It gets tiresome that people defend this game so much and in the same time deem everyone who does strict, fair and polite criticism as a non OG Stalker fan while doing mental gymnastics between ''you have 100+ hours still you give a negative review or criticism'' OR '' you have only played a couple of hours''.
I like to always approach my favorite franchises as the football team of my home town. Which for me, that i love my town football team in the same way as i love the trilogy from OG SoC initial release, means that when i see something bad i must call it before team goes to hell.
Blindly applaud or giving excuses to things that should be called and criticized harshly only leads to downgrade.
I have played and still playing S2 for 110+ hours and iam 60% in the main quest line. I enjoy the game but the truth is that it needs a better tempo with the the fixes and like @Baron01 said addition of the features that should be here from the get go. They owe it professionally and morally to all the OG veterans that supported them financially either if they are on the applauding OR the criticizing side because both sides care and love the franchise if they spend their time writing and actively engaging.
And for Gods shake the administration must say to the marketing/PR side of GSC to stop these fancy videos and announcements at least until they have proper main and secondary quest lines working without mods or engine edits, A life, nightvision and mutant parts which yes existed from SoC.
Keep up the good work GSC !
They are working to fix the game.
Its just unfathomable to me how you can spend money on any thing and not expect it to work or even excuse its broken state. Ive spent 45 € for this collection of garbage and I was expecting at least a halfway polished game as everyone would like to be able to actually enjoy a game and not be spoilt in their fun by glitches, bugs and performance problems. I have a question for you: If you go buy a car, do you expect it to come without tires or a steering wheel? Would you say "Oh, no worries if that brand new car is broken, I'll bring it back for 3 months and then I can finally ride it to work." ?
Steamdb is just an indicator that stuff is being checked in, etc. Not an actual proof that a patch is close to being put out.
If you stop by their discord they have a Q&A section about patch question on what is being worked on and fixed.
now i can get . thanks for information man
when the next patch 1.0.4 is coming man i hope its before 25 Dec 2024 . because i m leaving for new year holidays i can't play 14 days . so i hope i can see the patch before 26 Dec 2024 ..
Except most large companies have Community Representatives and Marketing experts to communicate and get feedback on what's going on in the actual player base of the game, making sure that the big problems are addressed and giving insight to what's going on.
Unless you're Yandere Dev, who claimed he was taking 6+ hours a day everyday to read emails instead of working on the game, and asked his community to stop emailing him. Now that was a real clown at work.
Again, this isn't an indie studio who has like 3 developers doing 100% of the work. This is a company with like, maybe 20-30 main devs working on game code and game features, DLCs and such, then you have the artists making trailers, DLC models and worldbuildings, you have HR, Marketing department, Management positions...
Always surprises me how people have just no clue how large org work.
