Don't buy the ultimate version for the content (I don't mean the DLC's, I will get those as well, with the normal version. I mean the weaponskins...you don't "need" those).
Some things are admittedly plain useless (why would I carry a reskinned PM pistol if I already have a weightless one stuck in my inventory forever), not that great (Tourist's suit) or get quickly outclassed by normal stuff you'll find around (Monolith M870 is clearly inferior to the mag-fed one you find by doing the story, until you find the blueprint for the same modification).
Nonetheless, others are indeed nice-looking and somehow unique pieces worth picking over their common equivalents (Riemann, Lullaby).
For suits, it mostly depends on how geared up you are when you find them. But I can tell that, to me, the Light Merc Suit was a GREAT boost for early game.
At worst, it's all "free" (in game) stuff that you can collect or resell.
