I tried bolting the anomaly. It didn't change anything. Game continually either teleports me to somewhere far away, and then must be force-closed, or it locks completely and shows as unresponsive in task manager, & has to force-closed.
It doesn't matter if I bolt the anomaly then run up the ramp, or run into the anomaly (testing the situation), or just wait until the enemy above does his telekinetic attack, or sometimes just hang out in the lower room shooting the dogs form a corner that is concealed form the telekinetic enemy above, it's the same end result.
I'm unable to proceed beyond this point.
Just run up, climb ladder and get some shotties on that controller face.
Its no point on lingering down there anyways, just waste of HP and ammo.
So just pick a save slightly before the pit, immediately jump down bolt the anomaly run up and jump for the ladder, if you make it that far it probably will not freeze any more and you can deal with the controller in the next room.
Beware though there was another bug the first time I got it to work where it wouldn't allow me to save the game, so i pushed on thinking it would reset, it didn't so i had to do the whole damn thing over yet again.
All in all I had to reload and force close probably like 15 to 20 times before i finally got passed the mission.
All basic actions, such as "just quickly run through," etc., were tried well prior to my posting here. I CANNOT proceed, in any way, running through, quickly jumping onto the concrete ramp and trying to quickly jump to the ladder, etc. I wouldn't have posted here if the solution was as simple as "just bolt the anomaly, then just run through, jump on concrete, jump to ladder." I didn't list every attempted circumvention of the issues, as I felt that doing so would be a waste of time, and it would be a logical assumption that simple attempts to get "around" this Game Bug would have been attempted/tried. However, to be clear, simply attempting to "go around" the issue as you suggest, does NOT work in my situation.
Adding to Clarify: Regardless of what may work for others, I CANNOT make it to the ladder most attempts, much less climb it and "just go through." The game locks either after a short while, OR when the telekinetic attack occurs, OR as I run up the concrete ramp, etc. Then, either the game is completely "not responding" (according to Task Manager), OR I can hear sound, I can even see raindrops hitting on the screen, & I see a very large distance from previous location indicated under mission objective marker by compass at top of screen (as mentioned in original post), but the game no longer responds to inputs, & must be force closed anyway.
Bottom Line: They need to fix this. I just wanted to note it here, as i've done. I'll simply await some sort of fix.
Coincidently I have completed this same mission some hours ago for my second playthrough, what I did was use a bolt to break the anomaly near the column after killing the psy dog, then ascend it and climb the ladder, and then finally kill the controller.
As i've mentioned, that does not work for me.
I'm glad that approach worked for you. However, for myself, and apparently others, that does not work.
EDIT: I was finally able to progress. Fought the Pseudodog, fight two Soldiers, bolted the anomaly (only Bolt, no Scanner in Hand) and jumped the ladder :-)
You like the game? Yeah?
WAIT.
H, see my post on 17 Dec @ 1:58am: "only Bolt, no Scanner in Hand and jumped the ladder". You have to trigger the anomaly, so that it disapperes ;-)
That does NOT work for many, including myself. NO "bolt" action, with or without scanner (I never have the scanner in-hand anyway when I bolted it) changes the crash. I've got a better suggestion, no offense to you, but MY suggestion is that the Devs Patch/Fix the issue, instead of the "user" having to test 20 different ways to circumvent the Issue, hoping ONE of those ways "works" to allow use of the game. I like the game, and have enjoyed it quite a bit, and I ASSUME they'll fix it & give them the trust they will, as they seem to be doing what i'd expect with patching, and communications. However, let's not avoid the fact that the game needs some serious patching, and it's not on the "user" to "fix" or spend inordinate amount of time trying to "go around" the issues.
In the meantime, i'm just giving them a chance to Fix the issue(s).
