What should I upgrade

I hate to start upgrading just to find out theres much better stuff and the equipment becomes obsolete. Or is there plenty of upgrade materials and it doesn't matter.

Without spoiling much
Its natural in a looter shooter to get better gear later
Would suggest pacing yourself and seeing how it goes later in the game
There's no necessity to upgrade ...

Don't bother upgrading anything from the lesser zone like at all there is like no point until you get to the garbage heap then you can get better equipment to upgrade

honestly you can pick up a 416 and with some upgrades and ammo picks, can last you the whole game. every gun is lethal if used right. its armor you really need to focus on upgrading, thats what keeps you alive.

As a guy who passed the game (through pain and tears) - nothing except the exoskeletons and endgame weapons.
