It's Saturday night for the United States, which should mean peak player count. People are moving on because the game is broken.
or yea some can't play yet cause of issues
You're missing the point. I don't care about their finances, I care about getting a product in working order. A high-quality game retains a high player count. Under 20K players for a title this new is not good. It's clear as day people are getting bored and moving on because of the issues.
Nope, not true. Check global achievement %. Not even the majority finished the game. Lmfao.
Despite how high profile Stalker 2's release was, Stalker is and always has been a niche Slav Jank series. This was a lot of people's first Stalker game, and a lot of people learned it wasn't really what they wanted/thought it was.
Of course there are probably a lot of people who dropped the game because of the state it released in, and there's no denying that. But I think you're seriously over estimating how much concurrent player counts matter as a metric for a single player game. Not to mention we don't even know what player counts are on Xbox/Game Pass.
You have got to be trolling. 1st off why do you even care if others are still playing a single player game?
Second off it's not exactly new anymore and it's a Saturday night, leading up to Christmas.
Third off people like me are holding off because our saves were borked by the bad bugs after SIRCAA. We'll come back but GSC needs to handle the game-breaking bugs 1st and to add, they're doing a pretty good job at it so far. I'm still going to give them a bit of time to cook though.
Ahh yes because the only place in the world is the United States. All across Europe right now its early hours of the morning.
Also its a well known fact that the large majority of players actually play the game through Game Pass, the developers themselves confirmed this. For all we know there could be 50-100k people playing right now on Game Pass.
When will you guys understand that America is not the world?
A lot of people have finished the story at this point in time. Some may have already finished their second or third playthrough already.
Some may have issues and are waiting for further updates. Some may not like the game and stopped playing.
Some may not find enough time to play videogames because of real life / upcoming holidays.
Whatever it is, it's def not just because of one single reason.
As for fixing the game: yeah, GSC is on it. If you'd looked at their Discord you'd know they're working on 1.0.4 which will also include some A-Life fixes. Just chill, my guy. A-Life is one of the most broken things in the game right now and will probably take the longest to fix and patch up.
The game will be fine regardless of "player count".
And no, I'm not sayin the game isn't full of bugs, and it's pretty terribly unoptimized, but it's functional enough that I finished it myself, and started a second playthrough right after.
Ideally the game would have released in a significantly better state, but given how much I love it even in its current state I'm pretty excited to see how good it gets as its updated.
This tbh. I and every longtime Stalker fan I know are loving the game despite its flaws.
