In "oldschool stalker". You can sprint while reloading guns. Pistols, automatics, you can even sprint while swinging a knife in CoP. Instead of this "oops I am too tired to stab this guy because it isn't a canned stealth takedown" if I lightly jog up to the last enemy nonsense even with endurance+ armor and endurance+ artifacts.
Do not trust anyone trying to talk ♥♥♥♥ that you "Just can't handle oldschool realistic gameplay" They either are faking it, or are lying to you when they know the truth.
Old muscle memory keeps me trying to sprint while reloading because of all my CoP replay hours I guess. "Wait, they dumbed it down, ♥♥♥♥. How come nobody ever agrees when I call things 'call of duty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥'?"
While console needs is a problem at times, this is not a "console" problem as there are plenty of games on console, or console ports, where you can run while reloading instead of crying and forgetting how guns work.
See also: screenshots on your save file. Consoles have solved this. FALLOUT has solved this. "but the consoles-" just reminds you that you can't blame the consoles this time.
Also when I run out I'll try to run away or take cover elsewhere, then do my reload. I agree it's a dumb decision or oversight by the developers to not be able to reload while sprinting.
Honestly this just reminds me of how many guns reload super slow compared to old games to show off the animation budget.
in CoP I felt that the rusty first pumpaction was for real relevant alongside the spas12 and riot shotgun, because it had a slightly faster reload thus best "empty, 1 shell, bang, repeat" when surrounded by enough trash mutants to survive a full load of the "Kill a burer so hard their corpse glitches into an upright standing position" drum fed. (This remains my most satisfying videogame shotgun kill of all time. Blowing ceaser's head off with a smuggled sawed off is nothing)
Emphasized by the fact it took me three tries my first attempt at the poison pripyat tunnels to keep everyone alive who were too stupid to defend themslves. 3rd time was the weak pump action, thanks to reload.
NOW, the first pump action has atrocious grandma's first time using a shotgun reload speeds. Probably to make the blueprint locked magazine unlock seem more impressive too. By the time most people find that they probably have a saiga anyways. god, I hate "trash stats to make unlocking average stats look 'overpowered' to the gullible" design.
I say this as a guy who LOVE weapon juggling far too much. Put me in darksouls and if I don't have every weapon slot filled even with a torch or whatever I go crazy. I am literally opening my bag to swap guns based on encounter type here. (a seemingly stupid habit which has saved my life many times)
But bad reload speeds just to make later guns/later upgrades look better artificially, always feels bad.
Now excuse me. I need to go take rapid reload perk in New Vegas to try and get better mileage out of the colt SAA animation weak as ♥♥♥♥ even with hand load ammo 357 magnum. send help.
The right way of doing it is slower reload while sprinting, but it's not like devs will see my message so who cares..
And you cant sprint and reload, fact. Deal with it.
On topic, if you are able to reload while sprinting, the game might as well just remove any mutants. They are already time waste but with the sprint reload, they would be just boring time waste as you could completely trivialize any fight by just stutter sprinting out of their melee range while reloading that supped up shotgun to blast them into tiny pieces.
Kid, have you ever played an older stalker game? Or did you only play mods that tie your shoelaces together.
Inconvenience is not the same thing as challenge. Maybe someday, you will have enough hours and insane bug reports under your belt to realize that (people will defend entire plot critical landmasses just vanishing, and screech that erasing then re-verifying the files to force it back into the game is an exploit because it also refreshes the resource nodes)
You trying to defend this means you might as well demand stalker 2 has physical copy protection hiding key NPC dialogue and passcodes in the instruction manual, with the game telling you to look up page X paragraph Y. I'm pretty sure I got one of those old DnD PC game manuals with that ♥♥♥♥ laying around somewhere.
Are you OK? Maybe little drunk?
You are going on weird tangents and you completely lost me on your third paragraph.
I'm not defending anything, I just stated the fact you can not sprint and reload in Stalker 2. The fact this was possible in original trilogy has zero relevance or bearing. I also gave reason why it is fine that we can not sprint and reload--this would completely trivialize any fight with mutants. Chimera is only "challenging" because I have to feed her 20+ buckshots or slugs before it keels over. If you could just sprint around while reloading, fighting chimera would turn into 15 seconds of unloading 3 mags (each takes around 5 seconds to empty) and 20 seconds of sprinting while reloading.
Memes aside, using APSB burst-fire pistol for 80% of this game has been immense clutch for so many situations. If you can pull off swift headshots, you don't have to worry about reload times on your primary.
