Am i the only one who think its a really bad Voiceover?

I really have no problem switching to English if my language (German) isn't available as a voice output.

But seriously, who came up with the idea of ​​hiring people who have such bad English/Irish accents as voice actors?

Most of the time I feel like I'm playing Fallout London but not a stalker game set in Ukraine.

The accents are sometimes so strong that even I need the subtitles to understand what's going on.

This is just bad and an immersion killer for me.

I would love to play in Ukrainian, but then I'm only allowed to read because I don't understand what's being said, so I don't understand a lot of what's shown and a lot of the story gets lost if you're more reading than watching the video...

Man, I would really like to have a cheap German dub like some German films from the 80s that had Russians in them, and they simply spoke German with a strong Russian accent.

Even in English I would celebrate it if it had just been English-speaking Ukrainians so that the accent at least gives you the feeling of being in the zone...

There is so many really peculiar (or more like unusual in most media) regional British accents in this game.
Various Welsh, West country, Brummy, Mancunian to name a few, looks like the agency they got for voice actors has got a real spread. Strangely (and much, much for the better imo) there very little cockney London or upper/middle class accents that films and games often vastly overuse, leading foreigners to think that all British sound like one or the other!

Plus there's some almost hilarious accents attempted that don't land as intended.

Sort of takes away from the atmosphere a little but not as bad as I feared pro-launch.

I think it's all AI voice over for Skif's english dialogues.

He doesn't sound concern, excited, or that upset about things, he's kinda out of touch with reality.

They all sound like robots reading a script, I am not sure if that is just the slavic way but I don't find any convictions with any of the performances.

Goes for both ukrainian and english.

Tried to give Ukranian a chance because eng was so bad and people kept recommending the other but not only was it equally as robotic but I also couldn't keep track of subtitles while dealing with the action so back to silly english it is.

I have lived here all my life and carried out work in pretty much every city in this country....... Yet there are places less than an hour's drive north of me where I haven't a clue what they are saying. It must be a nightmare for tourists travelling in Britain

I know we are "supposed" to give GSC a lot more slack than everyone else but come on.

There are lots of game made by non English speaking studios with games also not set in England and the English VA is fine.

GSC were just lazy and/or too cheap to get good VAs.

Not sure if trolling or what. That's like me saying I love german class without understanding a single thing that is being said or taught enough to know that it is german and not actually austrian or dannish.
