One additional quest is like a “gift” for those who bought a more expensive edition. It's not even part of the main plot.
The Ultimate Edition gives you access to future DLC.
There is nothing similar to paywall content or microtransactions to overcome the grind
"Nothing similar to paywall content" you say?
Let's take a look and compare say... Star Wars Outlaws or even AC Shadows, looks pretty similar to what GSC is doing. Asides from 3 Day Early access. (Thank goodness for that.)

With Outlaws, they paywalled "Jabas's Cambit" behind a paywall, basically Day 1 DLC and STALKER is doing the same with the exclusion of the side quests which I reckon was in the base game already, but was cut out and bundled with the more expensive editions to entice ppl to pay them instead of the base game.
The only possible Ubisoft-ification I can see so far, is how Beard on Skadovsk (one of my favourite characters in CoP) has been replaced by...what do you call it...BIPOC representation.
This is not a replacement for a Beard.
It seems like it’s not Skadovsk, the black character is on Shevchenko (that's not accurate)
Humm yes? I'm sure that's the point in the different editions, What you you expect them to do increase the content for each edition but keep the price the same?
You go to a car dealership to purchase a car and want added extras, sun roof, sat-nav etc you pay extra money for those extras, the more extras you want the more you pay.
I guess virtually every car dealership in the world it doing a Ubisoft hu?
You go to an ice cream stand to buy an ice cream, you want extra toppings? That will cost extra money, or are ice cream stands doing Ubisofts too?
Same goes with burger vans and virtually every other business on the planet.
Understand how ridiculous you sound? ..... If you dont like what they are doing dont buy it, pretty simple really.
Maybe include the cut quest in the base game, that would be a good start.
Remember this, if you give 'em a finger, they'll take your whole arm without second thought.
Edit: I can understand Season passes and what not for content that's not yet finished, but I frown upon quests (that are already finished) been cut from the game to be sold in more expensive bundles.

We already fought this when it came to Capcom's Tekken x Street fighter, which had day 1 DLC and ON DISC DLC which you had to pay to unlock. Which in of itself is stupid af.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Stalker, which is why this pains me to see them do this.
Who's at fault? The people who buy that crap.
Dude, then you can say that the base game for money is locking content behind a paywall.
Everything should be free to play?
The point is: Companies nowadays cut out content that used to be part of the base game back in the good old days to squeeze more money out of the consumers.
this forum is full of mega fanboys that deflect and/or find excuses for garbage practices
If this game was made by ubisoft instead they would tear it down but since it's coming from a liked franchise they are trying to cope as hard as they can
Exactly, what a double standard.
I have been accused of "talking rubbish" about this game [see quote below], but how can I do so if I have no access to the game or gameplay? Just the provided cinematic visual bytes of the game that "...do not play anything like the demo..." or so said that reviewer from his experience.
We ALL need to cut back on the hype intake, it will ruin your release experience. Be happy there will be another STALKER, stop complaining of delays (the game ain't ready!), and stop demanding for it to be "released now or I'll scream and cry...".
