The answer is to carefully edit the graphics settings until you get a good configuration.
Note that the UI for the graphics settings is bugged, particularly the resolution setting. I edit the files by hand. Once you have a good setting, then NEVER change it and save it through the UI as it will lose various changes (especially resolution!).
I run it 1440p with Epic graphic settings with a rtx 4060ti. Use DLSS upscaling but NOT frame generation. For me, the game is utterly superb if you can forgive the 'fiddliness' of getting your graphics settings right. A 3080 should be more than adequate to run it well -despite the other comments on here.
yeah i mean this game can run 40fps in 1440p on a b580 on low graphics. i suggest a clean install of your drivers. if that doesnt help then try running low settings with ray tracing on. sometimes that improves fps, it has for me in other game on my 3080ti pc if they are optimized correctly with ray tracing rather than standard lighting models.

also just try to google good graphics settings for 3080 on stalker 2

did you try any of these settings configs? https://www.videogamer.com/guides/stalker-2-best-graphics-settings/

oh also you dont say if you are on a laptop 3080 either. if so, that runs more like a 3070 with 10gb or 12gb vram. on a laptop some offer what is called a mux-switch (might also be called advanced optimus in your bios) that can cause a lot of fps loss in some games when it tries to switch back and forth between integrated gpu and dedicated gpu. this can be turned off in the bios of your laptop.

if its a desktop gpu then try going into windows settings>ststem>display>graphics>filter by: Apps I configured>Add Desktop app>install location of exe for stalker 2 (i.e. M:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Heart of Chornobyl\Stalker2.exe) then add it. lastly, select the high performance 3080 option in the dropdown next to the new exe you added in the menu. then start the game up and see if anything changes. the changes save automatically. this same option can be done on a laptop as well.

I have a 3080 Ti and have all on high/Epic targeting 60 FPS. No stutter and no lag.
If your 3080 cant give you more it´s probably your CPU that cant feed your card.
Make sure you have all drivers, OS and BIOS up to date. To start with....
Then make sure you have enough space on your SSD for reading/writing and not slowing down, An old SSD needs 20-25% free space of total capacity for reading/writing. A new SSD about 10%. If you dont have that space your SSD will slow down and also worn out earlier.
That makes 200-250Gb free space on an old 1 Tb disc and about 100 Gb on a new one.

it is weird dude, When it first came out I had decent frames in 4K native. Around 60fps with some settings lowered but textures high. Now I can barely get 60fps with DLSS. This game will raise the requirements as "bug fixing" goes on.

If "everything" = spawn distance.
This is why I don't get how a good amount get mad over loading screens, but when a game comes out with almost no loading screens it's now a problem when no one can run it with inferior hardware..... I'm so tired of the double standards man, you want to play a game like this you need a high end graphics card, pay up, cheapskate.

how is my 3070 running better than your 3080 LMAO

Graphics isn't everything. I didn't give a damn about the fact that I had to use upscaling on a 4060 to get even just a passable framerate. My interest was in enjoying the game, not if I'm getting 200 FPS in 4k on super ultra epic plus settings.

So if I were to write a review, I'd also go with recommended, but mentioning the many issues the game does have, including the heavy hardware requireent.
