Add infinite stamina out of combat
The amount of running in this game is pretty crazy, I always travel light when I leave the base (skif's pistol, shotgun for mutants and sniper for humans, few bottles of vodka, little bit of food and some medkits and bandages) but once I start collecting loot to sell running becomes a nightmare.

Energy drinks are not as good as in previous games and Im not sure if there is a way to make your stamina last way longer with artifacts like you could in previous games.

My solution would be to add infinite stamina out of combat. I would still make Skif run slower if he is carrying a bunch of stuff.

Energy drinks had no use in previous games because stamina wasn't an issue. Here they are actually useful. There are also multiple ways to increase your carry weight, maybe you should try them.
I don't think infinite stamina outside of combat is the solution. It invalidates carry weight which is part of the game. If you're not in late game I wouldn't cry just yet. 1 km runs become more frequent and there is a lot more dead space in between bases. But, there are stamina artifacts and plenty of artifacts for weight...though it only mitigates time running which increases exponentially in the last 1/3rd of the game.

Stamina drugs that actually increase stamina quicker over time would be an awesome edition as chugging non stops kinda sucks. I also think they need a base or two out west to lighten your load...even if it's just a couple of stashes and beds.

Skip need to be able to do meth for infinite stamina for 8 ingame-hours.

Ah yes. Press button to refresh stamina - a wonderful mechanic.
Sarcasm aside, I think energy drinks should be limited to 5 per day or 6 per day and otherwise they should cause damage as well when you drink them.

On the other hand - BRING BACK TRAVELING /W PATROLS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Using Energy Drinks already has a downside, in speeds up hunger. While a small downside that's more food/weight one must carry. Also traveling w/ patrols was not in the original series.

So refreshing stamina with a consumable is bad but refreshing health with one isn't? Why would they be limited and cause damage? Makes no sense.

U can fullsprint with ~90kg on u. What else?
Though the camel hydration system could add 50% of stamina recovery instead of 5%...
And maybe decrease stamina depletion on lower difficulties?

On Veteran u shpuld know locations and artifacts to move around most efficient way.

They really need a button at the start:

"Please complete the game, show me the endings, give me all the achieves" for that subset of players?

(Not really directed at the OP, they have an idea, fair enough. I would say not personally required, but I understand people like different things so they can just mod that bit if they really want to)

I prefer a full blown fast travel system. I hate games that don’t value my time.

you combine energy drinks and water and you get close to infinite stamina for a short time
The stamina system really is ridiculous. Skif can run for about 10-15 seconds before having to stop and quaff another magical energy potion that instantly restore all stamina and instantly makes him hungry.

Greatly reduce the stamina cost for running, and make energy drinks provide a long-lasting buff to regen rate and hunger accumulation.

And maybe make hunger actually matter somehow while you're at it. Though, that would probably require making food about 99% scarcer and more expensive, and that would probably require reworking the whole loot system because right now food is everywhere and about a third of everything you find.
I think Stalker 2 really needs a top-to-bottom rethink of its whole economy/loot/consumable system, but basically none of it works well right now.

Hunger actually does matter if one is trying to avoid mutants.

There will always be elements in a game that some people just don't enjoy. There are many ways to counter the stamina issue that are part of the mechanics of the game. It's just that some folks are too lazy (or have a short attention span -- too much TikTok?) to use them within the system. For them, they can use mods or console commands.

^Lazy or not lazy, the current stamina system isn’t realistic, or immersive, or fun, or interesting. Providing loot that slowly lets you mitigate annoyance as you progress through the game is, at best, treating the symptoms of a poorly designed system.

Yeah, this game is a walking simulator :(.

I remember springs actually being useful in past games, this is just sad.

One spring, thats a extra 3 lbs to carry, two springs, you got 9 now buddy, dont blow it all in one go. Actually useless.

Basic loadout and your inventory is half gone.

Exo suit, thats another 9 lbs. Like these values make very little sense to me.

Suits heavier than 3-4 kg are not worth it for me. Also its funny how there are elitists defending this feature and talk about certain rare artifacts as if you are supposed to know on your first run where and how to find them. And even with artifacts its still not enough imo.
