Lightning Strikes

Now i'm able to play the game again, I have noticed lightning never strikes the ground near me anymore. Observing a lightning storm at length from a high vantage point, it became apparent that lightning now always strikes the ground outside of a fixed diameter away, beyond the range that the strike spark fx can be seen.

My theory is that lightning bolts are just a form of NPC, and as such are also affected by and limited to how all NPCs and mutants now spawn farther away since the patch several months ago that increased the size of the spawn bubble.

I miss the storms where being struck was all part of the threat and want to see it back in the game. If anything, I would want to see a much higher chance of a strike, as the game is way too easy and needs to have more challenges.

I have too, at the beginning, but not for months. So youre saying you still get ground strikes happening near you?

Just wait till you get to the Burned Forest.

There's a reason why it's called "the burned forest".

Just had two in a row scare the ♥♥♥♥ outta me the first one was just over an arms length

scary stuff, lightning bolt slamming into you. the near misses are even more alarming cause you can see the flash of light clearly.

If strikes are still happening for some players, why hasnt it happened for me since January? In that time ive covered around 75% of the map, and not seen a single ground strike since leaving the lesser zone, where I would see several of them every single storm. I will head for burned forest next and see if that changes.
