Basically, just stay with the original game DLSS version.
Too bad though, DLSS 4 looks much better, esp. for the vegetation and trees.
I tried the Nvidia app again, and it worked better this time. Maybe because I also chose "force DLAA" - or it's a new version. The last time I tried, it didn't work for me.
Thanks!
DLSS 4 looks so much nicer when trees and vegetation, more depth and 3D-like effect.
Grass looks crisper as well
Do you have global illumination on Epic ?
STALKER 2 has the worst framerate of any AAA game I've played in the major hubs like Rostok, caused by CPU bottlenecking, and that is without A-Life 2.0 implemented. I'm using Shay's living zone mod, but it shouldn't make any major difference afaik.
On the flip side, GSC created an amazing Zone in STALKER 2, a huge map with so many great locations. That would probably be impossible with the X-ray engine, and GSC's limited resources.
With DLAA and DLSS 4 the visuals are good, but that demands a big GPU. And there are still some flicker tendencies with DLSS 4, so GSC could still improve compatibility.
It's a shame that CDPR abandoned the Red Engine, and the Crytech engine is overlooked. There are lots of "photo-realistic" UE5 games now, that kinda blend into each other.
Btw. if STALKER 2 could implement proper hardware accelerated ray traced GI and shading, I think the visuals would get a major uplift (vs. the current "flat" lumen lighting).
Maybe at some point we could get an "enhanced version" of STALKER 2 (like Metro Exodus), ported to UE 5.5 (or later) that fixes some of these issues.
Can you share a clip to show it?
The flickering trees and bushes is an issue with DLSS 4, it doesn't happen with DLSS 3. Certain lighting conditions make it worse, but the otherwise visual upgrade makes it worth it.
On a related note, there are quite a lot of rooms in STALKER 2 with aggressive flickering shadows, really hope GSC can fix this. It breaks the immersion.
It really is just a result of distant shadowing and looks intended or a natural result of lumen
