More games should use Cryengine.
Kingdom Come Deliverance II has very little pop in, super good performance and all with super nice graphics, Unreal 5 looks somewhat good, but its performance is one of the worst if not the worst in the industry, even some developers say that it is a bad idea to use it for open world games, why continue using it?

It's a great engine (cry). Lumberyard is a fork of it, among others. It's unfortunate they forked off of an earlier UE5. Some of these issues are better now apparently.

Far Cry 1 and Crysis 1 were way ahead of thier time on graphics, that would be awesome to do more games on that engine
Might bail out Crytek too. They just had a bunch of layoffs.

lmao we live in timeline when cryengine outperforms ue
For now.
The issue is Lumen in UNREAL5. It's just too costly, the Cryengine uses more traditional lighting methods that are quicker.
UE 5.5 is far superior to cryengine. KCD2 looks okay but very dated compared to what's possible in UE 5.5.
UE5 Looks good and performs well, But only from a marketing POV.
"Unreal 5 looks somewhat good"
Feels like a bit of an understatement.

It's not perfect, but it is a very good looking game.
Performance isn't great, but with DLSS and the FSR framegen crutch it runs alright on old hardware. I'm running with a 2080S
