Anyone know any games that are similar to Stalker 2/Anomaly GAMMA?
Happy new year guys!

Really enjoyed Stalker 2, definitely my favorite game of 2024 and I have played it non stop since release for 150+ hours. But think I'm gonna put it down for a bit while waiting for the SDK to release and mods to make it more like Anomaly GAMMA, more difficult with more emphasis on the survival and looting elements.

Does anyone here know any OFFLINE tactical, survival and realistic shooters that have great gun play, as good of weapons animations (probably not many lol), decent choices of weapons and attachments (ideally also being able to swap attachments on the fly which is chef's kiss in this game especially with those sweet animations)?

I've already played
- Metro games
- Fallout Games
- realistic tactical shooters like: Ready or Not, Arma 3, Insurgency, etc.
- Tarkov and the single player version SPT
- Forever Winter looks interesting but I will probably wait a bit longer since it seems to be still pretty rough around the edges.

If there aren't really games like this I will probably just go back to Anomaly GAMMA and maybe try few other modpacks.

Wish the community, GSC and this game a great 2025.

The Metro Series is great. 3 Games, 100h Quality Time.

oh lol don't know why I forgot to list that as "already played" when it's the most similar to Stalker compared to the others I've mentioned lol.
But for me personally, the Metro games have less replayability than Stalker 2/GAMMA because it's more linear and scripted so I don't really have the urge to replay several times compared to Stalker 2 where I restarted 3 times without feeling burnt out lol.

If you have or are open to VR then Into the Radius is really similar. You would also have Zona on VR which I have yet to try.

As for non VR games, there really isn't anything that will scratch the itch. The metro games are amazing and I imagine you would enjoy them if you haven't already played them, but they are not quite stalker.

recommending Metro to somebody who wants an open-world sandbox doesn't make a lot of sense.
doesn't necessarily have to be open box even though ideally that would be better since they tend to offer more replayability, but given how many criteria are already pretty strict, I'm ok with accepting level-based or linear games with open maps.
I believe you can play an offline mod of tarkov

They have official PVE now as well. I still use SPT when I want PVE though

yup! played that as well when I was kinda fed up with online Tarkov lol. It's fine but I feel like the game is designed for online and it's just not very good offline.

oh DAMN, I didn't know that. Will try it out then but hopefully it plays better than SPT which I always kinda feel like smt is missing.

It is free with EOD, but AFAIK it is paid otherwise. The main thing it has over SPT is it will be on the current patch.

ah that's why I didn't see it when I was playing it the last time...hmmm probably gonna stick it with SPT for now then because I kinda doubt it would magically solve the issues I had with SPT.

You can mod SPT, so there might be a mod to fix your issues with it.

LOL wasn't what I expected but the retro vibe is surprisingly endearing, always love this type of inventory menu too lol. Might just give this a try!
