- Inventory/ui mods currently have tendency to cause issues, especially regarding multiple mod conflicts.
Just gonna copy/paste a post I made earlier in another of these MYRIAD duplicate threads.. no offence. Anyway, if you want the shaders to load, try this, works for me. But this is also on the understanding you're not trying to run STALKER 2 on a potato-toaster laptop. Because that's just... not a gaming rig.
Getting the shaders to load:
Something I tried was to create an engine.ini file (you can find this on the nexusmods site, but no mod-download needed).
https://www.nexusmods.com/stalker2heartofchornobyl/mods/364?tab=files
Basically, follow the instructions to place a line in the Engine.ini config file. I had to create one first, you may have to as well.
To create an .ini file easy way is to simply copy an existing one from the file directory specified on the mod page, basically in your appdata/Local directory. I just copied the hair.ini one to my desktop and edited it there
- Now- delete everything in this copy, even returns and spaces, that are invisible, (use arrow keys to detect any). Once you have completely emptied it, copy the [systemsettings] command into this file, but instead of the function being =0, you want to put in =1
- Rename this ini file Engine.ini and be sure to check 'all file types' below this. Then save file.
- Copy this Engine.ini to the file directory in your appdata / location (mentioned in the modpage) and you're good to go.
This now tells the game to load shader cache on startup, conflicting with GSC's
'Shader NERF' update. You should get the cancel program pop up at first attempt, but just close out of it and reload game and it will (hopefully) over ride this and load shaders.
I have used it for about 4-5 days now and I load shaders successfully all the time, and they load faster than previous updates, but some of us were noticing that anyway.
(Any issues, you can google how to create an ini file for windows 10/11)
Remember, you don't have to install the .Pak file mod.
I find that it is better to use the Engine.ini configuration protocol, but that's just me being OCD. It won't hurt your computer and you haven't downloaded a 3rd party file. so...meh, up to you. It can be easily removed with no consequences and you also have a copy of it backed up to use again if necessary.
If I remove that mod, however, the problem is solved.
