Shader Cache Warmup Error??
Everytime I startup the game, it will either freeze at about 15% shader cache compiling and just spin for almost an hour before I get annoyed and restart the game, OR it will give me an error warning "Shader warmup failed, this is an unexpected behavior that will case temporary stutters while they are compiled at runtime. This is a temporary workaround to let you still play and enjoy S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. We are extremely grateful for your patience, while we are working on addressing issue"

The grammar errors in there are what the warning says, literally copy pasted to this forum. I didn't mess that up. It is given to me that way.

Am I doing something wrong or is it totally busted?

System:
I7-6700k
RTX-2080 Super
32gb RAM Quad channel.
Run on an SSD.

That's the workaround they put in. You click ok on that popup, the screen goes black for a bit then the game starts. Do not try to shut down the game during this process.

I feel you man. The pain is real. Especially with 1-2 hr loading times only for it to ctd. Never had the issue before patch. I've tried every fix I could find online, pretty much the best thing to get it to work is just keep retrying, eventually it gets you in game only to ctd in a few hrs or so. Game is nigh unplayable.

Open disk cleanup then check DirectX Shade Cache, then OK

I did this but still have the same issues. I finally got it after getting the game restarted 6 times yesterday. Took me 2 hours.

This does not work for me, if I click the popup it goes to "press any key" and it's just totally locked up there, I need to force close the game, force close it in steam and relaunch for it to work.

This only started happening a couple days ago but it's basically every second launch it happens now.

I'm having the same issue, the temporary fix I'm using is to disable shader caching altogether. Go to "AppData\Local\Stalker2\Saved\Config\Windows" and create a new text file. Paste this in it:

[SystemSettings]

r.PSOWarmup.WarmupMaterials=0

Save it as Engine.ini (I'm assuming you don't already have an Engine.ini, by default there isn't). Game should now boot and skip the shader caching process. Remember to remove .ini file when a new update drops.

Same here. Game does not load, but instead turns totally frozen. Only way to close it is to ctrl alt del and log out of the Os, and then log back in.

Played yesterday, but something is not working anymore.

You should be able to alt-tab (if you have the Task Manager open already) or ctrl-alt-del to the Task Manager and close the STALKER2.exe from there. No need to log out.

Also count me as another person having this issue. Would love to know of a workaround if there is one.

I got the same Issue, but I found a workaround.
Launch the game like normal, once you get to the shader loading screen wait until the shader loading bar stops moving, then close the game through the steam menu. DO NOT wait for error message popup.
Run the game again, you will get the error message popup this time, click "okay" or whatever the prompt that it gives you is.
It will then go to "press any key" but it shouldn't be frozen.

This is what works for me, hope it's able to work for you too.

so the real question here is, Why do so many diverse systems have the same problem? What is the commonality between those of us who have this issue? I ran file integrity checker 2 times now and it says all ok! Is it a DX11 issue? Or is it memory manufacturer? 64Gig of 3200mhz ddr4 and i stutter so bad if i get it to play. This laptop can play fallout4 in ultra and in stalker2 i have to play lo/lo/lo/lo.

This sounds like absolute witchcraft, but it works! Thanks for the heads up!
