This does not work for me, if I click the popup it goes to "press any key" and it's just totally locked up there, I need to force close the game, force close it in steam and relaunch for it to work.
This only started happening a couple days ago but it's basically every second launch it happens now.
[SystemSettings]
r.PSOWarmup.WarmupMaterials=0
Save it as Engine.ini (I'm assuming you don't already have an Engine.ini, by default there isn't). Game should now boot and skip the shader caching process. Remember to remove .ini file when a new update drops.
Same here. Game does not load, but instead turns totally frozen. Only way to close it is to ctrl alt del and log out of the Os, and then log back in.
Played yesterday, but something is not working anymore.
You should be able to alt-tab (if you have the Task Manager open already) or ctrl-alt-del to the Task Manager and close the STALKER2.exe from there. No need to log out.
Also count me as another person having this issue. Would love to know of a workaround if there is one.
I got the same Issue, but I found a workaround.
Launch the game like normal, once you get to the shader loading screen wait until the shader loading bar stops moving, then close the game through the steam menu. DO NOT wait for error message popup.
Run the game again, you will get the error message popup this time, click "okay" or whatever the prompt that it gives you is.
It will then go to "press any key" but it shouldn't be frozen.
This is what works for me, hope it's able to work for you too.
Dam that works thanks man, strange how crashing it once pre error allowed it to boot
This sounds like absolute witchcraft, but it works! Thanks for the heads up!
