Ah I must have missed that one. Will check it out thnx.
Why? No ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reason at all. removing it does not lower repair costs either. it seems there just to ♥♥♥♥ with you. It can be particularly nasty with the viper as the upgrade tree UI obscures the gun model so you won't notice the attachment mount went away.
It is probably a for real case of "Just there to pad out upgrade trees with more things to buy"
See also: Camel pack water bottles and carry harness. Default for basic bargain bin PSZ-7 body armor. some of the most basic, real world camping gear upgrades even idiots who think camo pattern jeans makes them a real military man can get. yet considered lost technology you must search for blueprints, and will also be considered mutually exclusive choices for later armor.
I used to love the 'realism' claim. Years have beaten it out of me because oh wait everyone is just lying to me and trying to claim "That annoying details is super realistic! But also it would not be fair to apply realistic hardships to your enemies and rivals oh gosh"
