Progression bug- NOT SNIPERS - Happiness for Everyone, Fight off Monolithians
Searching for HfE progression bugs gives endless "SNIPERS KEEP KILLING ME" posts and thats not what im trying to figure out. Cant find any post that actually gives a clear response to this so I try here.

Before the 1.1 patch when entering the Duga the first time, I looted everything up to the infirmary where Spark was located. Approaching from the south I got the "fight off the Monolithians" subquest. 2 or 3 Monos pop out from behind a shed surrounded by a chainlink fence like 10 meters north of the infirmary. Kill them, dialogue progresses but the quest never updates.

Trying to continue the game and go down the sewer, same thing. Quest never updates but dialogue is still following my progression. Got lost when I came up out of the sewer. Tried reloading 15+ times from outside subquest start area, grenaded every window, used UETools to clip into every building to see if something was stuck where it couldnt die, tried using the quest completion command in UETools but it doesnt just finish off the subquest, but the entire quest and I would obviously really like to play the quest. Took a break to wait for a patch.

Post patch 1.1, reloaded save from MUCH earlier, walked the 2 klicks to the Duga and started fresh. Same issues. Nothing resolved.

Anyone have any idea how I could progress this one simple little ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ problem or is this a use-UETools-to-skip-or-restart-game kind of thing?

oh and spoiler free tip for your upcoming boss fight. aim for the lanterns, shooting anything but the bright glowing lights EVERY GLOWING LIGHT or it will leave you in an endless skull bashing fight to no end

Thanks for the reply. If i understand you, I should use that interactive map to track the next objective and match it up to my in game map, suffer through poorly signposted insta-kill barriers to a boss fight that SHOULD complete the quest, either getting rid of it or starting the next one, in which case I can UETools the old quest away?

Its finally over! Thanks for the map and tips. nearly a month of waiting for a patch to fix this and now ive just done it with a little bit of help.

i dont really use any tools so idk. but you'll see a fire anomaly up ahead. basically when i went up to/beyond that point i no longer had the instakill guardrail. just mind that watchtower on the left

yeah there's a few extremely poorly communicated things like this in game; this is one of them
