Please Fix Swamp Shelter Zones For Emissions
I am soft locked on my current save because there is an emission event going on. I am stuck in the farthest south portion of the swamp for one of the main quest lines and both the ruined shacks do not count as shelter to hide from the emission. It gives me the completion marker on the quest objective, but once the emission starts; I start to die every time. I legit can't play the game now unless I want to restart from an old save and lose all my progress and loot leading up to where I am. Even if I do, I will be stuck waiting and doing nothing till the emission rolls around. Is there really no other type of shelter besides what's not truly available in the swamp?

Even with being away form windows and doorways, I still die while in the middle of the structure. Even when there is a roof with no holes over my head. I feel like I am that guy in the Jack Stauber animation saying "Why is it still raining? I did what I was supposed to."

IIRC that particular quest has a scripted chimera spawn and a scripted emission. Unless you can kill a chimera very quickly, you must just run from the chimera, travel thru a shack, and continue to a collection of buildings. There is a (supposedly) emission-safe room (basement?), and you wait out the emission there.

Are we talking about the same scripted event? And you aren't stopping at the shack, but are continuing to the collection of buildings?

I'm also at that point too and wondering if it's even possible. The fact that it is scripted makes me feel better. I've tried running but the building i get to aren't emission safe.

edit: i can confirm there is a hidey hole for you. not gonna say anything else cuz spoilers

You have to do that mission as fast as possible. Once you destroy the last emitter the countdown timer on the emission starts. Make sure you're weight is in the green zone. Drop any excess junk you're carrying. Have energy drinks and having an artifact that boosts endurance is a life saver. Do not fight with anything just run to the objectives and make sure you remember the route through the swamp so you don't go into the water. There are two houses you run through before you get to the old Clear Sky base and that's where the shelter is. Don't hold a weapon in your hands. You run faster if your hands are free.
there is no fix needed, its scripted to ♥♥♥♥ you over. Best thing to do is reload a save find a stash in the swamp, place your unneeded items in it. Mark it on the map or just remember where its at then do that portion of the mission and run. :feste:

if you get caught in the emission even just for a few seconds your equipped items get destroyed fast but you are able to out heal it for ~10 seconds then im pretty sure it just outright kills the player

At full emission, you can't out-heal the damage. The damage kills you faster than the healing animation. The emission doesn't snap to the highest level of damage at the start - the damage ramps up, but it ramps up pretty fast and it definitely passes the point so that you can't keep up with the damage thru healing.

There is an under ground passage , part of your mission that is in the swamps. I think it's the Clear Sky Base, It 1st or 2nd door \ building on the right. If you are currently at the fishing hamlet you can run there in time just make sure your quick item the energy drinks.

Yeah, you are supposed to run towards the Clear Sky Base underground while being chased by mutants. You can make the last 300 meters easily if you avoid deep water/mud and chug water+energy drinks while holstering your weapon.

There is even a mod for that because folks end up like this.

The idea of setting off an emission in that situation is quite evil... maybe stupid.
There is enough madness in the swamps going on... but this?

The game is off on this ... you can be in a hanger or whare house that has doors wide open and broken windows and survive the emissions.
If you are in a small cement building with no broken windows and a closed door... or a wooden house that is intact you die.
I was in the wastewater processing plant and had a red emissions even take place, I was in the build with the Key code entrance and I died I even tried the small cement building that had a bathroom in it. I died huddling in place there too ... the oddest thing is I now have a permanent main mission marker, take shelter from the emission, where i died even though i have survived several emission events after.

I mean, the game is somewhat at fault here. They throw a chimera at you, AND an emission, and in that scramble you have to somehow know the correct thing to do.
