Faust fight lag
96 hours in and rage quit for the first time. This fight is absolutely horrendous. Bad frame drops in general are one thing, but when an entire fight has TERRIBLE frame rate - like im literally dropping down to 1 frame for a good 10 seconds, and THAT many enemies are spawning... what the actual hell? The fight is quite literally unplayable for me right now. Anyone else having this?

i confirm same problems ! i must set settings to low and exit / relaunch the game !
its a memory leak problem
Same for me. The performance gets so worse that is unplayable. I already startetd the fight several times but I guess I just leave it for now. Really no desire to try again at the moment..

Restart game and set all graphics settings to low, that have worked for me.

I am beginning to think that is the problem for many. They want their rigs to run this on epic settings. I am on a 3060Ti and it looks great, runs great (2 crashes since the beginning and both on 1st version), settings high to medium.

I am not saying there are not valid problems but there are a number of us playing without all these problems.

Take Rostok inventory bug. I went to Rostok, traded for a few things and left. No lockups but others are saying it has to do with how much stuff in your locker, etc. My locker has every "named" weapon, so far, and a ton of artifacts and things I know I will need in game. I don't pick up things I can't /don't use and go on a scavenge binge every other day I play. That way, I play the game but don't just load up, as I play.
I had the same in the faust fight. But i had it only when i used scope sight.
Same, just did it, only when aiming directly at him though. Never had this issue before.
What a power he has, he can crash your game in real life!

Yeah i also had really bad literally unplayable fps drops in this fight.

Would have to hit escape and wait a few secs for fps to stabilize and continue fighting before unplayable again rinse and repeat. It took awhile.

Soon as he died it went back to normalish fps but i hope there isnt another fight like that again.

Same problem in both quests that require you to fight Faust and his phantoms. In the first fight, the initial assault (perhaps only available if you side with the Ward during wishful thinking? Not sure), using the scope rendered the game unplayable due to massive framedrop; without the scope, it was doable, albeit extremely difficult. On the rooftop fight, I had constant lag during the whole time, but getting up close and personal worked for me. After a few deaths.

1 or 2 fps with a 7900XTX...while I'm being lit up from all directions (and having my aim yanked around, and having heals interrupted mid-animation in a slide-show because I almost survived this embarrassing farce for one second longer).

it's the hair.
Put it on medium.

And the rest of your system specs? as for me it didnt cause much trouble with that card.
Was just confused about what to do, but shooting the 3 emiters stopped the clones apearing, and after that shooting the bleu glowing emiter on Faust belt finished the mission

Turns out this fight is just like MGS' Psycho Mantis. You have to turn every graphic setting to low so you can have a 20-30fps instead of a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ slide show. Great game developing.
Oh good. Its not just me that had this issue. Just finished the fight and was going at like 4fps near the end. I think the issue was just the amount of dead bodies piling up
I was doing fine in the start of the battle, but as soon as Faust started doing his PSI ability, it dropped to 1 FPS. I figured out after a couple of tries, that the best option was to put everything related to graphics down to Lowest, even though I've been playing STALKER 2 at High to Epic quality since I started the game. The fight is still a bit challenging; I've played on Veteran since the start, but with almost no lag, I finished it just after turning down the graphics. It sucks a bit that I couldn't see the final cut scene with Faust with the graphics I've been using from the start of the game.

TLDR: Turn the graphics to LOWEST.
