Petition to stop GSC's talks with Netflix
We need to form a petition to stop GSC from selling out to Netflix who will not only ruin the game but ruin the image of the game. Nobody asked for or wants a Netflix deal. Nobody wants to see the Stalker universe ruined by Netflix. Please GSC if you care even 1% about fans do not follow through with selling out and betraying your fans.

Thats an opinion you are entitled to have.
It may be good or it may be bad, but I don't think it will ruin the image of the game.

I could see a Netflix show around the licensed,Could have decent material to go for.

tbh, there have been a lot of good game related short series and such on netflix lately. think league of legends, or the cyberpunk edgrunners one, or the first season of the witcher (but then it went to ♥♥♥♥). I really enjoyed them. If they do it well, i'm down. if it's not done well, however, then yeah, i agree with you.

Crap game gets bought by crap movie streaming service to diversify into creating a crap adaptation of crap source material.

I dont even think dinosaurs left craps this big

Netflix has a penchant for putting untested activist directors in charge and then mothballing the whole project when their activism blows back on the project.

That makes me worried. I think Amazon would be better. Hell, even MTV would be better. Not because Netflix isn't capable but because they're so addicted to self sabotage it's silly.

Every IP Netflix has touched turned into a joke. Just look at the trainwreck of the Witcher.

We're talking about the same people that butchered Cowboy Bebop right? That source material was pure gold, with a 100% probability of not screwing it up, but we all know Netflix does exactly that

I mean it's a cool idea for a series, can't blame them. But I do agree that they the series will very likely turn out to be garbage.

netflix does as much gems as trash, it's part of the reality of movie making, and i'm not sure how much creative control they have over individual projects. they biggest lever they have is deciding whether it'll sell or not, and cancelling or renewing an IP

If you think Netflix has gems, then you must have a high resistance to jank and hack script writing

I dunno, Fallout the TV show was great, Fallout 4 was personally a heap of junk, and do not look fondly back at 3 or NV, only 1 and 2 were for me. I even tried 76 this year and that was hilariously pointless.
Guess what, Fallout show was made by Amazon.
Also while the show was pretty good, it still destroyed alot of lore even tough Todd said he personally checked that this isnt the case (yet another lie of his).

Would like to see a Secret Level Stalker tbh.
Yes, I know this is not Netflix but would like to see Amazon create it. The Warhammer 40K ep. was awesome.

If you want to see a real, gritty, Stalker video just wait until some college students decide this is what they want to cover for a school passion project. Less than $5,000 and likely less than 10 minutes in length, I bet big booty bucks it would stand as one of the greatest sizzle reels of ideas to hit youtube. And it would be completely free to watch. Don't believe me? Check out other passion projects in fan films or fan trailers on youtube. Some of them have been so good that they've been turned into actual film projects for festivals.

If they own the IP, they can pretty much do what they want with it.

Good luck with your petition OP.

I think Netflix might do a terrible job by trying to Americanise it. If it was made by grumpy old Ukrainian intellectuals with slow pacing it could be amazing, but I suspect it won't.
