Diode is missing from his workshop at the Slag Heap in "The Price Goes Up" quest?
I did all I had to do in that quest (talked to Diode, gathered stuff in Nestor's workshop etc.) and now I have to talk to Diode again to present the keycard to him, except he is not in his workshop. Instead he is shown on the minimap as if he was standing in the middle of some irradiated heap.

Is this a bug or is he supposed to be there and come back to his workshop after some time? Im kinda stuck here.

EDIT, 23.12.2024: A possible fix found. Please see conversation below. Will close thread when confirmed that it works for more people.
EDIT, 24.12.2024: Most likely an universal fix found. Im closing thread. Merry Christmas guys!
EDIT, 27.12.2024: Fix doesn't work as it should. So no fix for now...

First, I found a console plugin on Github that tweaks minor issues (Skipping splash screens and shader loading for example) and adds a console to the game.
Second, I got a second file being the Mission ID list.
Third, I put the Stalker2Tweaks.ini into the game folder and put the command in. IT WORKED.

I'm afraid something is still broken, I have to ditch this entirely and start from scratch again.
The problem is no matter what outcome, after the sawmill meeting with Scar, I get no main quest anymore.

ya'll reload to the save that was before you found the card in the warehouse find it again and diode should be okay

If i install the file could i unbork the game and then remove the file? I don't really do modding. Just a shame i might be forced to

you can hit F10 or ~ Key to bring the console

1st I place it this command:
XDKFinishQuest E03_MQ05 true
(You hear the sound of the game of mission accomplished)

2nd Place this command:
XStartQuest E03_MQ06 true

Finally I can move on

I recieved an email from GSC about the same issue. hopefully it's now on their radar to fix.

Although it's the devs thing to fix, players can do hell of a ton to fix for themselves before devs. (I personaly draw the line at modding out errors.)

I see soo man posts saying "X is broken" and yet they don't try fixing themselves (even basically like restarting a save from an earlier point etc

According to this list, main missions are not in the same order as in the mission ID list.
More accurately, "Deal with the devil" ends with "MQ04", but is said to start after "The Price Goes Up", aka..."MQ05"!

If i'm right, the second command must be changed to:
"XStartQuest E03_MQ04"
Otherwise, an extra content loss could occur.

But I get it's locking you out from the game so it's risk reward. just not a risk i personally wanna take

When the Ward took over the place Diode was gone.

Later on, he was back at his place.

The thing is there is a bug where there is supposed to be someone in his workshop when he's gone for "back to slag heap" which never turns up, without talking to him you can't get up the stairs to trigger the cut scene meaning diode will never come back and no other tech will take his place in the meantime.

If yours worked you havn't suffered but I have a screenshot of the issue itself and GCS is aware of it

I'm playing through Geforce now, so it's impossible to use mods and fix this bug for me. There is no ward soldier in Diode's place in "Back to slag heap", and no way to progress main quest, completely stuck. Hope GSC is aware and will fix it soon.

Update:
The fix is not working very well, cause afterwards you have to manually start every main mission, until the end of the game.
So it breaks the auto-chaining of quests, but it's still somewhat playable.

Yeah I agree. I was tinkering a bit more and decided it's best to just wait for GSC to fix said issues. Inputting commands just breaks a lot of stuff, not only missons and progressions but also messes up locations (doors sometimes dont unlock where they should).

IMO, there's no fix for now other than reloading a save before a mission start.
