Stalkers are generally easy to spot since your around them alot. Same with general bandits and the wards (pretty distinct green plate), but aside from that I don't have a clue lol. Game should also have some sort of menu screen that gives you an idea of your rep with the various factions, or hell even an overview of discovered factions.
Kinda not what I was asking. Obviously that's how interactions go anyway, but I was wondering if anyone else has trouble identifying what squad of 5 armed dudes just showed up to the facility they were looting. Exposing yourself to a potential enemy squad like that just to check if they're cool or not is bad advice.
Its pretty bad end game when everyone including some of the bandits pulls out their exoskeleton armor out of storage and run around in it. And when its raining and/or dark out and the different camo colors blend in its pretty hard to tell who is who in the middle of a firefight.
Once the fighting starts and they're all mixed in against one another, all you can do is look at the green dot. Otherwise, its a crap shoot. Always easy to just let them all fight it out then take out any enemy survivors. Some might say its realistic that its chaotic. Maybe, but certainly not fun since killing anyone ruins your Rep, which technically shouldn't happen UNLESS a survivor can actually tell anyone. Simply shooting some friendly loner shouldn't matter. If you're the only witness then it never happened. =)
Well dude it's a video game not real so it works well enough, but in actual "interactions" as you say it can sometimes work as well.
My crosshairs are always disabled in Stalker, so that's not an option lol. Oh well, good to know others have similar visual fuzzyness.
Okay, let me explain where I'm coming from.
You want a stash, there's a squad of 5 Exosuits hanging out around it. You can't really tell who they're with. So the only option is to either just open fire and hope they were enemies, or walk in front of them hoping they're your friends. That kinda sucks, don't it? In a series where the factions have always been pretty damn distinct, to not be able to tell who's who is a giant bummer.
Thanks I had no idea
Well don't just stand there like a deer in headlights forgetting you got legs and just let them mow you down you can move and run to take cover somewhere. Sheesh it's not hard, or I guess maybe it is for some.
Justifying a game that claims to have intelligent ai, yet has no such thing at all, just a generic "Spawn x amount of x around/infront/behind you" to simulate a populated world, when infact it is dead, and on the few occasions there are actually set npc's in place, you have to guess which side they are on? fingers crossed?
The OP is spot on, almost everyone with a few exceptions looks almost identical, and i guess your great advice of "Don't just stand there" works when you suddenly get shot at and cannot see anyone at all, yet they have laser sight on you through foliage/buildings/whatever?
Justify mediocrity more and inform everyone of your low requirements more clearly please.
Hey, it's a bandaid solution, but I'll take it. Good find.
