X7 suit upgrade?

X7 suit is mentionned as upgradable in the patch notes. But can't upgrade mine...
Any clue?

Are there upgrade slots or maybe the engineer you're taking it to doesn't have the skill? Like civilian engineers in starting town can't really do anything for military gear.

ive been looking for this answer for a while too! i was so excited to see that in the patch notes and thought itd be a fun armor to just give myself via commands to mess around with. it doesnt seem to be upgradable by any techs ive met including the in pripyat so idk if its a bug or what.

When I got mine the spark engineer was standing next to the box it was in and he was able to upgrade it. *edit* it was end game though and I got it through game play so no idea if he is the only one and its the only time he can upgrade it.

The fully upgraded diamond exoskeleton is superior. The X7 has no psi protection. The only good thing about it is is lighter than the exo-skeleton. It's also expensive to upgrade so have lots of coupons with you when you 'go below'. I sold it the first time and dumped it the second time. There is no story reason that requires you to wear it.

Well the story says you need it to survive the dead lands in the spark ending, I put it on to go through the teleporter and left it on. I didn't have any trouble finishing the game with it on.
